ᴄʜᴀᴩᴛᴇʀ 𝚅: Infiltration

Chapter 5:

The group hastily made their way to the medical lab, hoping Soobin was still safe. They found him huddled in a corner, surrounded by various medical equipment.

"Soobin, we need your help," Beomgyu said, urgency in his voice.

Soobin's eyes widened as they filled him in on their failed attempt and the Chrono-Core's location.

"I've been studying the Syndicate's tech," he said, a determined glint in his eye.

"I think I can help you disable the security systems."

The group exchanged hopeful glances. With Soobin's expertise, they might have a chance after all.

Together, they pored over the intel they had gathered, Soobin's knowledge helping them identify vulnerabilities in the Syndicate's systems. A new plan began to take shape.

"We can use the ventilation shafts to reach the Chrono-Core," Soobin said, his eyes shining with excitement.

"And I can hack into the security systems, creating a window for us to get in."

The group nodded, a sense of determination and hope renewed. With Soobin on board, they felt a sense of unity and purpose.

With their new plan in place, the group set out to infiltrate the Chrono-Core chamber. Soobin led the way, using his knowledge of the ventilation system to guide them through the ductwork.

As they crawled deeper into the system, the air grew thick with tension. They knew they were taking a huge risk, but the fate of the world depended on their success.

Finally, they reached a vent overlooking the Chrono-Core chamber. Beomgyu carefully removed the grate, and they peered out, taking in the sight of the glowing Core.

But, to their surprise, they saw something else: a figure standing guard, someone they hadn't expected to see...

As they approached the Chrono-Core chamber, a familiar figure emerged from the shadows. Beomgyu's eyes widened in surprise, and Yeonjun's face fell. Huening Kai's eyes narrowed, his grip on his weapon tightening.

"Hyunjin," Beomgyu spat, his voice laced with anger.

Hyunjin's gaze locked onto the group, a smirk on his face.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here. The famous Chrono-Core team, caught in the act."

Taehyun's eyes narrowed, confusion etched on his face. "Who is this?"

Hyunjin's smirk grew wider.

"You don't know? How quaint. I'm Hyunjin, a loyal member of the Syndicate. And I've been sent to take care of you."

The group exchanged uneasy glances, realising they were in trouble.

"How did you find us?" Yeonjun demanded.

Hyunjin chuckled.

"You'd be surprised what resources the Syndicate has. And now, you're screwed."

The group knew they had to act fast, Hyunjin's presence meant the Syndicate was onto them.
