The day stretched long and tense to the night in front of Jungkook. His tired yet dark eyes are navigating towards one of his warehouses, through the heavy rains of November.
His men found Nicolas and Sophia, they were trying to flee from the country, but gladly they couldn't pass the boarding, before that his men caught them.
The city lights shimmer like blurred shiny jewels, their glow is being swallowed by the relentless sheets of water.
Every fiber of his body has been captivated with a raw anger, frustrations, mind is fulled with thoughts, confusion. Is Hwasa actually indicating the truth, or it's all of her acts? But she wouldn't do anything that could harm Koko.
He finally yanks the car in front of the warehouse. The building looms like a skeletal giant in this sudden storm, its corrugated metal exterior is catching the flashes of lightning that is sporadically tearing across the sky. The wind is howling like a banshee, whipping the rain into a stinging frenzy.
As soon as his car reaches, one of his men emerges from the door and he sprints towards the car. As soon as Jungkook opens the door, that guy puts a black umbrella over his boss's head to shield from the brunt of the rain.
Soon, they cross the muddy path towards the warehouse's rusty iron door. His man pushes it open revealing a cavernous space, illuminated by harsh overhead lights.
The air of this area hangs heavily with dampness and muddy smell. Jungkook steps inside, the door clanging shut behind him with a loud sound.
Two figures are sitting there, hands being tied with ropes on the chairs, they are huddled in the center of the room, their faces are pale, drawn.
Nicolas, the young girl, barely out of her teens, looks up with her intense eyes as soon as she hears the sound of the hard boots being stomped on the concrete floor. Besides her is her mother, gaze fixed at the ground, her shoulders are shaking uncontrollably with silent sobs.
Jungkook approaches them steadily, each step is echoing in this vast hollow emptiness. He stops a few feet away from them, his gaze is cold and assessing, face is blank like always.
"Who the f*ck you work with?"
No greetings, no sugar cotting, just straight to the point.
Nicolas slightly shivers at the calm sound of his voice, his voice is strangely calmer, she expected him to shout out loud. But this calmness is literally sending chillness in her whole body.
"I don't know what you're talking about you deep sh*t, you guys are just wasting our time." she mumbles rolling her eyes arrogantly.
One of his minions takes strides towards her to confront, how dare she talk ill of their boss, but Jungkook stops him with his hand. She lifts her chin and meets directly with his gaze, "You think you can scare me? I've faced worse than you."
Jungkook's eyes narrowed down. He leans closer and his voice comes out like a low growl. "And you think you're tough, but you have no idea what 'worse' means, not yet."
He straightens back his entire posture and circles the table slowly, each deliberate step seeming to constrict the space around them, a heinous predator.
"Sophia, how's your son btw? What was his name again? Morgan? Didn't he flee away in Jeju after being a suspect for murder? Send my condolences to that little guy or I can go and personally greet him."
Sophia's heart begins to pound against her ribs, fear is crawling back in her wrinkled eyes. The situation is far worse than she imagined. Jungkook knew about Morgan, and how the mother is too much soft for her son. Now his wicked mind is using this softness like a weapon, twisting the knife in the right place for his own good.
