Year 844

"Okay here you go." The man told the little girl after he inspected the groceries he ordered her to bring.

She handed out her hand and the man gave her 15 dews making the younger one confused as she looked up at him "Uncle, this is half of what you told me you'd give..."

The man sighed "Look kid, life down here in the underground city is hard. Did you actually think I'd give you 30 dews just because you did what I asked you to?" He scolded the child before turning his back at her "Take it or leave it kid, now get lost! Return to your parents or something, if you have them atleast." He laughed while walking away.

But as he was leaving, a silhouette appeared infront of him in the shadowy alley, blocking his way.

"Who are you? Out of my way, freak." the man told the guy and was about to pass by him when a hard kick straight in the face stopped him, making him stumble to the floor while holding his nose that's been broken.

"I'm not letting you go home to your mommy unless you give that kid the right amount of money that you promised her." The guy in the alleyway said, making the man look back at the kid who was watching them from the same position he left her. "Apologize."

The man looked up at the guy in fear "O–Ofcourse sir! Please just don't hurt me! I'm so sorry!" He apologised as he desperately cupped his pockets for money.

"Now go."

The man scurried away from the guy and went back to the girl to give her the money, he quickly apologised before immediately fleeing from the scene.

The little girl looked at the money in her hands and smiled, she then looked at the guy who she recognised as her brother "Thank you, brother!" She exclaimed before running into his arms as he kneeled down to her level "Did you have to kick him in the face?"

Her brother let out a small chuckle "He deserved it. This is why you need to be strong, things like this keep happening down here... If only there's a way we can live up there." He told her, whispering the last part "I'll bring you to see the sky one day, Hoshino."

"You mean, we can finally go up there?" The girl named Hoshino asked, full of excitement in her voice. Her brother promptly nodded "Thank you, brother!"

He stood up from kneeling down as he carried his sister with him "But remember to not let anyone know that we're siblings, alright? It's a secret, some bad guys might come for you if they knew you're my sister."

The younger nodded "Got it, Levi!"

"Let's go home then, Farlan and Isabel is waiting." The man named Levi told his sister "Count the money you have, see if that bastard gave you the right money."

She rummaged through the dews she have in her hands and found one copper, she took it in curiosity and showed it to her brother "He gave me a copper!"

"That bastard actually gave everything he had in him..."

They walked for about 5 minutes until they reached their house, Levi knocked at their door using a morse code that they created for safety reasons. It wasn't long until Farlan came and opened the door for the siblings, revealing himself in a white apron. Turns out he just finished cooking dinner with Isabel so they sat around the table and feasted on their dinner that Farlan cooked.

The next day, a mysterious man had showed up in front of their house and gave Levi, Isabel and Farlan a job, a dangerous one, but the prize was worth a citizenship overground. With Levi's desire to live overground with her sister, he accepted the deal and left Hoshino over the care of Jan's household while they followed what they were ordered to do but things didn't go as planned.

Levi stared in terror at his sister who was now in the hands of the Survey Corps captain, Erwin Smith. Her hands and face were covered in blood while she held that traumatized look on her face, just staring into space as Erwin held her hand beside her.

"Hoshino–!" Levi exclaimed in concern, desperate to run over to his sister but he couldn't due to his tied hands and a soldier preventing him from doing so. It made him snap in anger, kicking the soldier to the ground before making his way to Hoshino and knelt down to her level "What happened? What did they do to you?" He asked her in tense, but received no answer.

Erwin took a deep breath in and out, he hesitated to tell him what happened but he needed to know "Her clothes were unbuttoned and her pants were slightly pulled down when we found her. We concluded that she was sexually harassed and almost raped by the man she was with."

Hearing that fueled Levi with anger "Which man?! Who?! I swear I'm going to fucking kill that half assed shithead!" He shouted at Erwin in rage.

"I don't think that'd be necessary now... It seems like your sister has done the job."

His eyes widened in shock just by hearing what Erwin had said, he turned to look at his sister as he realised that those weren't her blood that's been stained on her clothes and hands.

"My team found her staring into space beside the corpse of the man we suspected to have sexually harassed her, he was wearing a Military Police uniform, there was an axe on the ground and blood all over her so it was no mistake that she had killed him." Erwin stated as someone handed him a notebook "This was the sketch of the body. We've identified the man as Jargan Onakop, a Military Police general." He showed to Levi.

Two of the man's limbs were severed, his back was full of stab wounds from the axe, and the back of the head had split into half. Levi was sure she had committed mass murder, and it was her survival instinct that caused it.

"It's too early for you..."
