Back at the lab, Essence started working on the Etherlink. His hands danced with the skill of someone who had done this a thousand times before.
Alon, curious about the craftmaster, approached him while he worked. "How did you get into crafting? It's amazing what you can do."
Essence glanced up briefly. "It's a long story, Alon. I've always been fascinated by the way magic can be shaped and molded. I started as an apprentice many years ago, learning from the best.. Over time, I discovered my talent for combining different magical elements."
Alon was even more intrigued, "So, you've been doing this for a long time?"
Essence chuckled. "Yes, you could say that. It's not just about the power, though. It's about understanding how everything fits together, how one element can enhance another. It's like solving a rubik's cube, really." He carefully measured out powders and liquids, mixing them. The room glowed as the ingredients reacted to his spells.
"Essence," Alon said hesitantly, "we really appreciate your help. I know this isn't easy."
Volt, who had been standing nearby, joined the conversation. "Essence, how much longer do you think it will take?"
"It will take some time. Also, to create an Etherlink for each fragment, I'll need the Kodex.
Volt nodded. "I'll get it for you". He returned quickly and handed it to Essence.
The craftmaster observed the Kodex. "This is quite a piece of work," Essence murmured.
"Give me some time. if the gates are even slightly off, you could end up elsewhere."The night went on and the lab was filled with the sounds of bubbling potions and the sound of metal clanging with each other.
***Finally, as dawn broke, Essence finished his work. He stood back and admired the six Etherlinks lined up in a row. The center of each gate was a rippling surface that glowed blue. At the top of each gate is the symbol of the fragment where the gate would lead to.
The alliance had fallen asleep on the floor.
He gently woke the alliance, who groggily opened their eyes and sat up.
"Everyone, wake up," Essence called softly. "It's done."
The alliance rubbed their eyes and stretched, getting to their feet. And there it was- Etherlinks, six of them, one for each of the fragments, and the Alliance stood before it.
