Annamarie was just a young female fae from Hewn city. She was a nobody. There was nothing special about her. But she was on the run trying to gain her freedom. She wanted to get away. Get away from the harsh and cruel treatment that she had known all her life. She wanted to get away from the hurt, the grief, and loss. It was hard for her but she had made it. She escaped from Hewn City a few days ago.

But at what cost?

Running is what landed her where she was now. After running and taking cover in the forest. She was trying to find somewhere safe... anywhere really. Even if it meant she needed to go to another Court. Because she had nothing else holding her in the Night Court anymore. Not a thing. Not even a person. Not anymore.

But she didn't expect this to happen. Being hurt terribly by three Illyrian males while she was hiding and trying to take cover. She should have known this would happen. But she was so close. She was so close to freedom she could taste it. She was so excited to have such freedom. But now it won't come.

Right now, it was so dark around her. So dark in the woods that surrounded her. She felt like she was being engulfed in the darkness. She didn't know if she liked it or not. But if she looked up above from where she laid bloody, bruised, and broken on the ground.

The night sky was so beautiful. So gorgeous with a million of bright stars above. Shining so bright. So luminescent and gloriously. The beaming stars above were the only thing that was comforting her.

Giving her solace at the moment. The stars, the night sky, they had taken her mind off the pain that coursed through her body. Taking her mind off of the horrors that plagued her mind. But soon it came back.

As she thought of what caused such pain, it caused tears to escape from her dark eyes. A painful sigh escaped her as she closed her eyes to think.

All she wanted was to be free. Be free of the pain that seemed to follow her all her life. The pain that never left her. The pain that seemed to just get worse as time went on. She wanted to be free of so much... and she tried. She tried to run to freedom. But this is where it landed her. In the middle of the woods laying beaten, battered, and broken. Seeming to be close to death.

She didn't know what to do. She was so weak, so tired, and so lonely. She wanted to keep fighting. But she had very little left. She just couldn't find the will to do such a thing. She was just so so tired.

Maybe this was what was supposed to happen to her. Maybe she would be reunited with him. Maybe she would be able to see him again. Maybe this was her fate, and a part of her was accepting it. Accepting her slow demise with a small smile.
