Cassie's eyes opened and she had no idea where she was. She shot up and looked around. "Where am I? Where's... where's Mark?" She asked.
"Cass. Cass calm down! It's okay," Ellie said as she came in the room. She took her hand. "Mark isn't doing good. He keeps coding."
Cassie blinked a couple of times. "W-What happened?"
Ellie sat down and sighed. "We were in a plane crash. Rosie is with Jackson in Seattle."
Cassie wiped away her tears. "Where's Mark? I wanna see him."
Ellie shook her head. "You can't. He keeps coding. They're doing all they can. But there's problems with his heart," she told her.
Cassie blinked. She was really about to lose the love of her life?

Cassie sat by Mark's bedside back in Seattle. He hadn't woken up yet. She was broken at how he had signed and DNR. She didn't want him to die.
"I need you to wake up for me now baby. Rosie needs you. Ellie needs you. I do too. Please don't leave me," Cassie sobbed. She held onto his hand. "I will do anything. Just please don't leave me."
Cassie looked to the machine and sighed. "It's okay if you do want to go though. Me and Rosie. We will be fine. I don't want you in pain or suffering. So if you want to go, then I won't be mad."
The door opened and Callie walked in. "Has there been any change?" She asked.
Cassie shook her head. "No. He signed a DNR. But ultimately Ellie has to make that choice to turn him off or not. And that's not fair on her."
"Someone has to do it."
Cassie turned to her sister. "It's a choice no one should ever have to make. I want him to pull through. But you don't?"
"I never said that. But if he's suffering then surely we should put him out of his misery," Callie said.
Cassie frowned. "He's not a dog! He's Rosie's father and he's Sofia's father. Why are you not getting that? And if there's a chance that he can make it through, surely we should do all we can," she said.

Ellie was sitting with Meredith, Alex, and April the four of them were eating lunch in Cristina's room at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital.
Alex looked to Meredith and smirked. "Blowing off Harvard. Wow," he said.
Meredith shrugged and sighed. "You're blowing off Hopkins. Wow."
Alex shook his head. "No, I'm postponing Hopkins till Robbins is better. Avery and Ellie did the same thing for Sloan," he said as he looked to Ellie who nodded.
"And I stayed."
Alex turned to April. "And you stayed because you have no place else to go," he said as he got comfy on the couch. "Oh. Wake me up in ten for Chunky Stu."
Ellie rolled her eyes. "You just ate," she said.
"Stuart. Short-bowel syndrome kid. I'm doing an intestinal transplant. He puked on me the first time we met, so I call him "Chunky Stu." Arizona hated it, but Stuart thinks it's hilarious," Alex told them.
Meredith looked around. She turned to Ellie. "Where's Cass?" She questioned not seeing the brunette there.
Ellie smiled. "She's with Mark and she's been spending time with Rosie. She's worried. I am too. But I'm trying to think about it."
Meredith nodded. "How is Arizona's infection? Is it getting any better?" She asked.
Alex shrugged. He sighed. "Don't know. I haven't seen her."
