I don't know if it's the smell of fresh coffee or the lips on my neck that wake me up first but either way, I'm happy.

"Babe," I mumble into the pillow as the hand on my stomach inches lower and lower. "Did you listen to a word I said last night?"

"No," Derek murmurs, playing clueless. I should call him Cher. "What did you say?"

"You've been put on a sex ban for at least forty eight hours. Remember?"

Being newly engaged, the sex has been non stop recently which is of course expected as we enter this new exciting chapter in our lives and don't get me wrong I love that the intimate side of our relationship has absolutely no problems, but there's only so much a girl can take when her fiancé is hung like a horse.

"Wait," Derek looks like a puppy that just got kicked. "You were serious about that?"

I giggle. "Yes, I was serious."

"I'll give you 72 hours rest, how about that?"

"My vagina thanks you deeply."

Derek dips his head and kisses me, slow and steady. "Good morning, my love." His lips press to mine again. Once, twice, three times. "Breakfast is on the nightstand."

I start enjoying my coffee, eggs and fruit while Derek hops out of bed and opens the shades. "We've got to get going soon," He says through a yawn, picking up his phone to check the time. "We said we'd be there in thirty minutes."

"Get going?" I ask, biting into a strawberry. "Where?"

"It's Aidan's first time camping," Derek says. "We said we'd go up to the cabin with them."

"That's today?" I ask. Now that he's said it, I remember being the one to jump at the opportunity. "I forgot."

I'm not so fond of the camping part but lounging by the lake in the sun? Yes please. Besides, Averie and I already agreed that we're going to pretend to camp but actually sleep in the cabin on the bed like sane people. She's eight months pregnant but I have no excuse other than I don't want to sleep on the ground.

"Do you need your head examined?" Despite the fact that we've had so much going on recently, Derek always first had experiences just how forgetful I am. "You planned this."

We get up showered and ready in record time and after Derek loads up the car we head straight over to Spencer and Averie's.

When we pull into the driveway Spencer and Aidan are in the yard, mid loading up their bags in the trunk. Aidan beelines for us the second we hop out of the car.

"I'm so excited!" He laughs as Derek hoists him up into his arms. "Dad got me a blow up dinosaur floaty for the lake." He snickers at Derek. "We got you a pink flamingo."

"Pink?" Derek gasps, matching his energy perfectly. "That's my favourite colour."

I leave them to argue over who gets the flamingo, duck or dinosaur and I head inside the house to find Averie. I spot her in the kitchen and I'm immediately concerned to find her hunched over the kitchen countertop, chin to chest breathing deeply.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm good." Despite what she says, she doesn't move an inch. Nor open her eyes. "It's just braxton hicks contractions. They'll pass."

"Are you sure it's just that?" I'm no doctor, but that seems concerning.

"Yeah, I got them with Aidan too." It seemingly passes because her demeanour changes and she looks like she can actually function again. "We spent five hours at the hospital just for them to tell me go home."
