Chapter FORTY FOUR: "interviews" 第44章:「インタビュー」

—Welcome to "shifts シフト"—
(Y/N) LOOKED AT Katsuki and Shoto, both sitting on the couch, a news reporter in front of them asking about the recent villains that they had taken down. She grumbled something before going back to prepping dinner, it was still pretty early in the day, but this dish called for some extra time, sadly.
(Y/n) stared at the half and half boy in disbelief as he began telling Katsuki how they were friends.

It was December, the snow had started and everything, the Christmas spirit they say. (Y/n) couldn't help but shiver at nothing in particular, the past month she's been having an eery feeling, and the last appearance of 'the LOV' in Deika city didn't help.
Her thoughts rampaged on and on, yet she still pushed them to the back of her mind.
(Y/n) continued to stare out the window, "Not so fast kids! It may look like there's a renewed love of heroes. But think about why, the world's on fire and everyone's scared." (Y/n) gave a bored stare at the ash blond hero in the front of the room, Mt. Lady, Midnight beside her.
"Are people cheering for pros they're got ample faith in? Or are they praying desperately we don't get our butts kicked?" For further example, Mt. Lady stuck her tush out at the class.
"Our jobs been more about celebrity in past years. Now the world wants to see real heroes again."
"Mt. Lady has dropped in as a guest instructor, she'll teach you how to deal with publicity." Aizawa slouched against the door, slowly sinking to the ground, getting comfortable in his sleeping bag. "And Midnights here to assist her."
"What publicity? I keep getting cut!" Katsuki shouted, his normal scowl on his face as his eyes turned white from rage. "Maybe you'll do better after training!" Ejiro suggested optimistically, throwing his fist in the air in encouragement. "I'm psyched to see her, but isn't she the most celebrity-obsessed pro there is?" M*noru shouted, pointed at Mt. Ladys ass.
"Quiet shrimp!"
"Today's lesson is Media 101 taught by an active pro and obscenely gorgeous hot commodity named 'me'. The perfect person to show you how to behave like savvy heroes!" I can't say (Y/n) was Mt. Ladys biggest fan, (Y/n) couldn't ever really take the woman seriously, she was constantly fighting for the spotlight, constantly putting herself first.
"I have no idea what we'll be doing, but let's do our best and go plus ultra, you guys!"

"In today's class you'll all be practicing hero interview!" Mt. Lady stood atop of a UA stage, a microphone in her hand as, what (Y/n) assumed to be Mt. Ladys side kicks had cameras.
"Shoto, my dear, you first." (Y/n) sweat dropped at the tone of voice she was using, isn't she dating Kamui woods?
"Okay." Shoto said shakily, stepping into the platform. "My goodness! You were amazing out there!" Mt. Lady played the part pretty well. "Wait what are you talking about?" "Pretend you just finished up a big mission! Go!" "Right..." "Tell us, Shoto, what kind of hero would you like to be?" "Well I geuss—"
(Y/n) couldn't really care about this, she knew Shoto was her friend, but his acting was drawing a yawn from her mouth.
"Let's keep the interviews going, shall we?" Mt. Lady shouted, Iida and Ochako going before (Y/n) was called up. "I'm Tanuki! A pro hero that will shift all your problems away from you!" She tried out her selling line, "Oohhh! I like that! So! Tanuki, I'm curious what motivated you to be a hero?" Mt. Lady asked a big question at the very start. "So I can prove I have some sort of meaning with this quirk." She grinned, her hand on her hip, "Ooh!!!! What about your hero name? What's the story behind it?" The pro asked, (Y/n) thought for a moment before tapping her foot.
"Well it's the Japanese goddess of shape shifting." (Y/n) blinked stupidly when Mt. Lady motioned for the girl to continue, "I can shape shift...?" She said unsurely.
"What about an example of a hero move! I'm quite curious!" The ash blond giggled, holding the microphone up to (Y/n) before the girl seemingly disappeared. "Oh my... that's quite a disappearing act—" She stopped herself when she heard a familiar voice whisper in her ear, "Boo..."
"Ack! It's me!" The pro shouted into the microphone, staring at her clone, "Ta-da!" She held up a peace sign turning back to normal. "Well, you'll be one eye catcher if you smile like that in real interviews." She informed, calling up the next student.
