A Flicker of Determination

Yomi's opponents started to drop like flies.

The class of 3-A was split into groups of 4 and were currently battling against one single classmate. There were four groups of 4, which left four outliers. These outliers were to act as the hero against a groups of villains, which was truly just their classmates. Their goal was to immobilize all the villains.

With Yomi as the single hero it was hard to focus on anything but her. Every single one of her classmates was forced to watch the captivating image of her effortlessly taking out her classmates. She would scout out her classmates one by one and then when she found them she would drive the side of the knife clutched in her hand that was dull into a specific pressure point of her neck. The classmate she was looking at would drop to the ground: unconscious.

It was a simple mission for her and she had no trouble defeating her classmates. It truly was a wake up call for those that underestimated the quiet Yomi who often kept to herself. The only part that seemed difficult for Yomi was locating her classmates. It truly was another game of hide n' seek.

"How's she doing that?" asked Kaminari obnoxiously, the entire class had heard his shout no matter how far away they were.

"It's not fair, Yomi never tells us anything about her quirk!" came Mina's reply, which came out in a slight whine.

"Yomi says that her body acts as a kind of voodoo doll. So long as she has a clear view of someone body she can inflict the pain inflicted on herself onto others, and apparently that also includes the damage done to nerves causing someone to faint," Tokoyami was one of the few that Yomi ever confided in. She believed he matched her dark aura perfectly. He also had really good snacks when they were talking and dark shadow had never shown her anything but kindness.

"Wow that's so cool! But scary at the same time," Hagakure involuntarily shivered at the thought.

Bakugo sat towards the back of the class, only faintly paying attention to the screen. When he could not remember the name of the student supposed to be playing the hero he deemed them to be not strong enough of winning. He would never concern himself with someone weak and since he could not recall who Yomi Akane was then she must be weak. But it seemed that he was wrong. She had taken down three of the four villains already in only a matter of five minutes. And Bakugo Katsuki was rarely wrong.

So, what had changed about Yomi Akane all of a sudden?

...

"Shit, shit, shit!"

Yomi's fourth and final opponent was proving to be much more challenging than the past. With Sero's fast reflexes and the ability to tape her arms together to control her movements Yomi was having a hard time actually getting a hit on him. Currently the red head was running for her life trying to escape Sero's tape.

"You can't run forever, Yomi!" yelled Sero from behind her and sadly it seemed his voice was getting closer. He was using his tape to throw himself around the halls at a faster momentum than Yomi could keep up with.

Yomi deemed it unnecessary to actually respond to him and instead focused on running as fast as she could. She needed to think of a plan quick, one that would work while she was running.

She was running a random path, making turns and zig zags whenever in order for Sero to remain oblivious to what her next move would be and therefore he could not use his tape to immobilize her. Yomi applauded her past self for making her hero suit skintight so that there was no loose fabric weighing her down. Her hero costume consisted of a simple skintight black suit that during the summer left both her arms and legs open to the elements, specifically her targeted attacks on herself that she would inflict on her opponents. The top looked like a simple tank top that connected to a pair of tight shorts. In the winter the only difference was the top was now a long sleeve as she used her legs the most and needed those bare of fabric. In her opinion, the showed skin was necessary for her to use her quirk effectively, and it really was. Without the exposed skin Yomi wouldn't be able to use her quirk without damaging her suit in the process every time she used it.

Plans were running through her head like wildfire. That was until she came to one realization: Sero knew little of the human anatomy. He didn't know what pressure points caused specific movements like Yomi did. So long as she pressed a pressure point that cause his arm to flex or become stiff while looking at him, Sero's tape would not continue in the path it was originally taking. And he certainly wouldn't expect such an attack from her.

Yomi just had to wait for the right time then her plan would fall perfectly in action and she will have beat every last one of her opponents.

Right as Yomi turned the corner a few seconds before Sero she got in position. She put the non sharp side of the knife to the correct pressure point right before sero turned the corner. And right when he did she looked right at him and hit the correct pressure point making his initial attack with his tape go in the wrong direction, allowing her just the right amount of time to hit the pressure point in her own neck that would have caused her to pass out. But instead Sero was the one that passed out right as she made eye contact with him.

Yomi had won the training exercise in 8 minutes and 26 seconds. Record time compared to her classmates.

Something truly had changed in the way that Yomi seemed to be carrying herself in training. She rarely put this much effort in anything. There seemed to be a new type of determination within her eyes. One that was never there before.

And Bakugo was determined to figure out what had changed because there was no way Yomi, the weak fry of the class, could beat him, right?
