AUTHOR'S POV

J-Hope and Namjoon quietly made their way to the second floor, the weight of their mission heavy on their shoulders. Namjoon moved quickly to a computer terminal, immediately getting to work on hacking into the system to gain access to the file they needed.

Meanwhile, J-Hope surveyed the area, keeping a watchful eye out for any guards that may be patrolling the hallway.

As J-Hope scanned their surroundings, he noticed a group of guards making their way down the hallway, heads bent together in hushed conversation. He quickly pressed himself against the wall, staying out of sight as he waited for them to pass.

Namjoon looked up from his work, sensing J-Hope's sudden tension. "What's going on?" he whispered, his attention diverted for a moment from his hacking efforts.

"Guards," J-Hope replied, his voice barely audible. "Coming this way. We need to stay hidden."

Namjoon nodded, his eyes flicking back to the computer terminal as he worked even faster to break into the system. "I need a few more minutes," he muttered, his fingers flying across the keyboard.

J-Hope nodded, his eyes still fixed on the hallway. "I'll handle the guards," he said, his voice confident.

Namjoon paused for a moment, looking up at J-Hope with a hint of concern. "Be careful," he said."We can't afford any mistakes."

J-Hope huffed a laugh, his signature smile lighting up his face. "When am I ever not careful?" he replied cockily.

Namjoon rolled his eyes, but a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. "Just don't do anything stupid," he warned.

J-Hope clapped Namjoon on the shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry about me," he said. "I'll be fine. Focus on breaking that password."

Namjoon nodded, his mind already back on his hacking task. "Okay," he said. "I'll try to be as quick as I can."

J-Hope smirked, his confidence unwavering. "Take your time," he said. "I'll keep the guards busy out here."

With that, he stepped away from the wall and headed out into the hallway, his footsteps silent and his eyes watchful. As he moved, he kept a careful eye on the approaching guards, planning his attack in his mind. He counted silently to himself, waiting until the guards were close enough before making his move. Just as the group of guards approached, J-Hope lunged forward, striking out quickly and efficiently. The guards were caught off guard, their surprise giving J-Hope the upper hand.

As the guards stumbled and fell, J-Hope took advantage of their momentary confusion. He quickly incapacitated them with a few well-placed kicks and punches. The guards lay prone on the ground, unconscious and unable to pose a threat. J-Hope stood over them, panting slightly but unharmed.

He glanced around, making sure there were no other guards in sight. Then he slipped back into the room where Namjoon was hunkered down at the computer. "All under control," J-Hope replied, a hint of satisfaction in his voice. "Guards are taken care of. You good over there?"

"I'm making progress," Namjoon responded. "Just need a few more minutes."

"Okay, I'll keep watch out here," J-Hope said. "Just hurry up on that password."

Namjoon's fingers moved swiftly over the keyboard, his focus intense as he worked to crack the passcode. After what felt like an eternity, the computer screen suddenly flashed with a message: 'Password Accepted'. Namjoon let out a gasp of relief, a small smile of triumph playing at the corners of his mouth.

Suddenly, the room shook slightly as a loud booming sound echoed through the building. The lights in the hallway started to flicker, casting eerie shadows against the walls.

Namjoon froze, his eyes wide with alarm. "What the hell was that?" he muttered, his grip tightening on the keyboard. He looked towards the hallway, where he had last seen J-Hope standing guard, hoping desperately that his partner was alright.

"J-Hope?" he called out, his voice shaky. "Hey, are you okay out there?" There was no response, only the sound of the flickering lights and the ominous silence that surrounded him. Namjoon's heart rate quickened, his anxiety growing with each passing second.

He forced himself to take a deep breath, reminding himself to stay calm. "Stay focused," he muttered to himself. "J-Hope is fine. He knows what he's doing." But despite his words of reassurance, Namjoon couldn't shake off the feeling of worry that gnawed at the pit of his stomach.

He quickly began downloading the file that they had come for, the progress bar on the screen steadily increasing with each second. But his mind was elsewhere, constantly thinking about J-Hope and the loud noise that had shaken the building.

Namjoon's mind was racing, his thoughts a jumbled mess. He glanced up towards the hallway, listening intently for any sign of J-Hope or any potential danger. But all he heard was the sound of the flickering lights and the hum of the computer.

He looked back at the computer screen, his eyes glued to the progress bar that crept across the screen. It was only at 60% and seemed to be taking forever to finish downloading the file.

The silence in the room was deafening, made worse by the flickering lights that cast eerie shadows around him. Namjoon fidgeted nervously, his fingers tapping an anxious rhythm on the desk.

He tried to focus on the task at hand, telling himself that J-Hope was fine and that he just needed to keep calm. But his mind kept wandering back to the thought of J-Hope out in the hallway, facing who knows what kind of danger alone.

He took another deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. "He's okay," he told himself firmly. "He's fine. Just focus on downloading the damn file and then we can find him."

Namjoon finally finished downloading the file, a sigh of relief escaping his lips as he saw the 100% on the screen. He quickly disconnected the device he had been using and began packing up, his mind already on finding J-Hope.

Just as he was about to leave the room, the sound of footsteps echoed down the hallway. Namjoon froze, his heart thudding in his chest as he strained to hear what the footsteps might indicate.

He slowly crept towards the door, his ears pricked for any sound that might offer a clue about who or what was causing the footsteps. But the only sound he heard was the steady thumping of his own heart, beating rapidly in his chest.

He reached the door and slowly eased it open, his eyes scanning the hallway for signs of movement. Suddenly, a figure appeared at the end of the hallway, silhouetted by the flickering lights. For a moment, Namjoon felt a pang of relief, hoping it was J-Hope.

But as the figure moved closer, he realized that something was off. The figure was too tall, their movements too slow and deliberate. Namjoon's heart rate quickened as a feeling of dread washed over him.

Namjoon watched as the figure moved slowly and intentionally down the hallway, their footsteps echoing off the walls in a slow, steady rhythm. Namjoon's heart thumped in his chest, a feeling of dread washing over him as he realized that something was off about this person.

As the figure got closer, Namjoon finally got a glimpse of their face in the flickering light. It was not J-Hope, but rather a complete stranger, their expression cold and menacing.
