Brooke
"Where have you been Brooke? I've missed you so much." The blonde girl, Eve sitting next to me says.
If you're wondering who she is—she is a great friend of mine. Well, I wouldn't say great but I've known her for some time—only because our fathers both work in the film industry. Still, we ended up being okay friends and we occasionally meet up whenever I'm in New York.
I felt bad for leaving Charlotte like that earlier but I had totally forgotten that I had to meet up with Eve today, and I didn't want to miss out on this. Especially because I know she will put in a good word for me with her dad.Her dad is insanely rich, maybe even more than my dad, and getting on her good side would mean a lot for me.
And it's no secret this girl has a little crush on me—there was a point where we both thought about it, we made out and other stuff but then I pushed her away. It just got weird and I liked her more as a friend just to get to her dad. I know it sounds horrible but she doesn't have the best personality.
"I'm just here for some press for a new project I'm working on. How have you been?" I ask, taking a sip of my drink.
"I've been lonely, you always find a way to keep me good company." She says, guiding her down my arm.I fake laugh and take another sip of my drink. Why does she always have to do this?
"Um, anyways, how is your family? Is your dad working on anything at the moment?" I ask, attempting to fish through any information I can get.
"Well.." She starts.
"He's been looking around for a good producer for this new idea he has for a film but hasn't seemed to find anyone yet." She sighs.
She then leans into my ear, "Unless you want my word with him, I got you." She whispers. And a part of me tingles, not in the way I'm supposed to feel by her doing that though. I then carefully and gently put my hands and her shoulders and lean her back in her chair, making sure there's some space between us.
"You know that would be wonderful." I say close to her face before leaning back into my own chair and taking another sip of my drink.
Now that I feel accomplished I let Eve chatter away into her own world and fool her into thinking I'm listening by dropping a few "oh's" and "yeah's" here and there.I look around the bar, curious as to why there is so much whisper and chatter all of the sudden from the people sitting here on the stools.
It seems as if they saw a fight or something but I don't see anything happening..
I look for a little more around the crowded counter and look between the people sitting down because we're standing as well.I then pause my staring whenever I see Charlotte.
Charlotte.
So that's why everyone was acting crazy. What is she doing here though? I thought she would've stayed home or something. I've come to learn she isn't really much a "party" person from her dancing at the club. But either way, how could she willingly come here on her own.
And she doesn't seem like her normal, cheerful self either.
She seems disturbed.
She has this displeased look displayed on her face which makes it seem almost impossible to talk to her. But she also looks mad? I'm not completely sure.
But just as the bartender hands over a drink to her she's then tapped on the shoulder, probably by a fan. But I was completely wrong, because once Charlotte turns around, I see Olivia with her.
Out of all people, that's who Charlotte decides to hang out with? Don't get me wrong, Olivia seems nice, but something is off about that I just don't like. Especially since the night at the club when she just couldn't keep her arms off of Charlotte.
And it angered me of course, because not only had Charlotte told me she didn't like physical touch, but you could obviously tell by Charlotte's expression that she was uncomfortable.
