Year 1940. In an old wooden homestead from the cold breezing snow, a little boy, Oliver Elm stares at the moon wondering if there will be a better tomorrow, he lives with his mother who's a housewife and his father the Woodsman goes out to continue his work for his poor yet loving family. One night Oliver jumps out of his bed and runs down the stairs to ask his mom, "Mom? what's it like in the outside world." Then his mom answered gently.
"The outside world is a dangerous place full of dangerous wonders unlike anything you have ever believed. It is not safe for you to go out and play, no one is allowed to go outside yet."
"But mom." Said Oliver. "How come dad has to go to the outside world?" His mother was shocked at his own question considering that his father gets to go out but not her own son.
"Because Oliver" His mother said subtly "He is big and strong to go honey, everyone needs to grow big and strong enough to go to the outside world."
"So, if I grow up, I get to go out with him."
Oliver is always wondering what the outside world was like, and he can't wait to grow up soon enough to go, so her mother said with her gentle voice "One day you will Oliver, one day." So, Oliver lay down on his mother's lap and closes his eyes to sleep, hoping that he would grow up soon, his mother sang to him her last song for him to sleep well, and tight and that he can rest in a very cold night. But what he didn't know is that his mother was sick, and no one could do anything to help or cure her. She thought to herself that she's going to die, and he will need someone to look after him, so she carries her fast asleep son, and moves from his home to his uncle and aunt's farm. they both promise to take care of Oliver for the sake of his safety.
"Don't worry Oliver" whispered his mother "Uncle Larry and Aunt Amanda will take care of you. I'm sorry if I can no longer be with you." Oliver's mother then kissed him on his forehead and left him without looking back. Larry had to stop Oliver's mother from leaving because he knew he couldn't raise a child who looks like the one he hated (who is Oliver's father) and that he could help her, but Aunt Amanda held him back before he took another step.
The years have passed, and Oliver lives in a farm with his uncle and aunt who are looking after him, during his life as a kid Oliver was so kind to his uncle and aunt that they grew to love him as their own child. They spend family time together. Helping each other on the farm, playing fun games, and despite hardships they help each other overcome difficulty as a growing loving family. And most of all, they make each other happy.
As Oliver is now 14 years old, he starts wondering if he will ever see his mother again, it's been 10 years since then. One day Oliver met up with a few friends of his own in the farm. Their names are Mindy, and Chad. They are twins that don't always get along when they had a bit of arguments over small things. The 3 friends go out to watch the sky and imagine what the world was like somewhere far from here, each one of them made theories about the world, like there were pirates sailing in the seas still hunting for gold or there might be eerie creatures that lurk in the forest, and even Castles and royal people in a royal place somewhere far from the countryside. Oliver couldn't help but to think what the world would really belike. It was close to sunset and Mindy and Chad were told by their parents that they'll be moving to the big city, Oliver was saddened to hear this but eventually made a time to spend with the twins before they shake hands and said goodbye to them.
