Author's Note: This chapter features Aubrey's favorite movie. For your musical enjoyment, I have added Aubrey's favorite song to this chapter... Though if you've never heard this song before, I'm a bit surprised.

Enjoy the magical 80's throwback.

Aubrey

I wasn't sure at what point I started sitting directly next to Eli on the couch, or when my giant fuzzy blanket started going over the both of us instead of just me, or how we both ended up easily drinking an entire bottle of wine between us every time we did this.

Our movie nights were just like this these days.

Weeks had gone by with us hanging out every few nights, with Eli sleeping over on my couch, and I was trying not to think too much about it or what it meant. I hung out with Eli far more than anyone else in my life at this point.

I still hated him.

And his taste in movies still sucked so badly.

And I was so tired of horror thrillers.

Tonight, it was my turn to pick a movie... I was stoked.

"This movie sucks. I still don't understand how this is your favorite movie of all time..." Eli chuckled at the TV shining in the otherwise dark living room.

Eli threw popcorn into his mouth, most of it missing before he went back for a second handful. I was probably cleaning all of that mess later.

Again, I hated him.

So inconsiderate, so rude...

"Because Footloose has iconic music, and even has a musical based on it..." I glared at him. He knew I loved musicals. Did this really shock him? "Also, when I was in high school, I wanted to be Kevin Bacon's character so bad."

He laughed at me again, "Hey, I can see that... You kinda remind me of an 80's Kevin Bacon."

My eyes widened with insult and my brows furrowed in confusion. "What?! No, not like... Not to look like him... I wanted to be his character."

I frowned at Eli, who wasn't even looking at me. "Eli, how the hell do I look like him at all?! Are you blind?!"

Eli shrugged, "Not in the face, you're much prettier. I just meant overall body type. Except maybe a little shorter."

Right, so basically I didn't look like him at all. He was drunk, and he wasn't making any fucking sense. I rolled my eyes.

I went on with what I was talking about before he basically insulted me.

"What I was trying to say... Is that I wanted to be his character in this. He's going into a small town, breaking all the rules...handling religious bigots left and right. He gets the girl, because he has heart. He saves her from her miserable life, becomes her hero. He turns things around and fights for what's right... Also, this scene." I pointed to the TV.

Eli laughed his ass off, until he was wiping tears from his eyes as he sank further into the couch.

I frowned and pulled on his arm as I sat up to glare at him. "Why the hell are you laughing at me?!"

"The tractor race scene?!" Eli teased, "Aubrey, every time I think you can't get any lamer you prove me wrong. Oh my God... You're hilarious."

Eli raced real cars. As in, he drag raced for fun. His car looked ridiculous, too, and it was loud as hell... Everything you'd imagine a drag racing car to be. He said everyone's cars were like that.
