Summary: Merperson AU, whatever it's called—one of them's a merman, the other, a human

Third Person POV

Walks by the lake was one of the few things that calmed Wolf down. After a long day of heisting, he'd usually wander down by the nearby lake and just chill there. It was always calming, the scenery beautiful, and the animals friendly. The water of the lake itself was also something Wolf loved.

And while he couldn't exactly see what was underneath the reflective and calm waters, it was just so relaxing. Sometimes, like today, he'd also go fishing.

The Swedish man was down by the lake, as he usually was, a net in hand. He figured today was a good day to try to catch something.

Underneath the calm waters, a merman was swimming about.

Hoxton often swam by the shallower parts of the lake to collect objects that fishers often dropped into the water. Sometimes it was a good day, and he'd find some interesting things, some shiny and some with intricate designs. Other days, he wouldn't find anything.

He swam near the dock, his narrow tail moving quickly as he examined the floor under the water.

Wolf, after tossing his fishing net into the lake and watching it float for a few moments, sat down at the dock and dangled his legs over the edge. He was holding a beer can in one hand as he just stared down at his own reflection in the water.

The Swedish man had no idea that a merman was lurking around in the depths of the lake, not a clue at all.

Suddenly, the ripples in the water caught Hoxton's attention, telling him that something had entered the waters.

Looking up, he spotted something he hadn't seen before—some sort of rope tied together.

He had never seen anything like that before, and so, out of curiosity, he swam towards the mysterious object, his serpentine-like tail moving swiftly behind him.

Wolf was minding his own business, looking up at the clouds for a moment before looking back into the water, watching the calm waters of the lake be disturbed by the movement of the fishing net floating on the surface.

He took a sip from his beer before setting it down next to him, his blue eyes noticing the ripples in the water.

"Strange..." he mumbled to himself, before looking up once again to see what could've caused the ripples.

Suddenly, the net and the water surrounding the net began to violently splash around. It was as if something larger than the average fish had been stuck in the net.

Under the water, Hoxton had been caught in the net. He had swam too close to it, and got his tail stuck in between the nets. He was unable to free himself, as the rest of his body was also trapped in the ropes.

He was confused and panicked, trying his best to swim away and squirm out of the net, though his attempts seemed futile right now.

The Swede just stared at the thrashing object in the net for a moment, his face one of mild bewilderment. He's expecting a fish, but then again, it'd have to be a pretty big fish for the net to move so violently all of the sudden.

His eyes widen with surprise when he sees fish-like and human-like features flailing around inside the net.

"What the hell...?" he mutters, before slowly standing up and reaching into the water, grabbing the net and attempting to pull it closer to the dock.
