-sanemi pov

Sanemi had always been good at reading people. It was a skill he had honed over years of dealing with various personalities in both his personal and professional life. So, when he arrived at Giyu's estate, it didn't take him long to sense the underlying tension.

The house was beautiful, with its grand halls and manicured gardens, but there was a heaviness in the air. He could see it in the way Giyu carried himself, the strain evident in his every movement, and he could hear it in the silence that seemed to pervade the rooms.

As he and Giyu caught up in the study, Sanemi was relieved to see his friend laugh again, if only for a moment. But even amidst the laughter, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was deeply wrong.

When Kanae walked past the study for the first time, Sanemi barely noticed her, too focised in his own conversation with Giyu. But when she returned and stepped into the room, he saw her clearly. She was beautiful, with a graceful presence, but her eyes held a sadness that struck him deeply.

Sanemi could tell that Kanae was trying to put on a brave face, but the pain was still evident. He felt a pang of empathy for her, though he didn't know the full story of what had transpired between her, Shinobu, and Giyu. He introduced himself warmly, hoping to bring a bit of lightness to her day.

That evening, he found her in the garden, lost in thought. The setting sun cast a golden glow over the flowers, and for a moment, she looked almost ethereal. Sanemi hesitated before approaching her, not wanting to intrude on her solitude.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked gently.

Kanae looked up, her expression softening as she saw him. "Not at all... It's a beautiful evening, isn't it?"

Sanemi nodded, sitting down beside her on the bench. "It is. This place is really something. Peaceful."

Kanae sighed, a hint of weariness in her voice. "It hasn't felt very peaceful lately."

Sanemi glanced at her, his heart going out to her. "I can tell. I don't know what's going on, but I'm here if you ever need to talk."

Kanae met his gaze, her eyes searching his face. "Thank you, Sanemi. That means a lot."

They sat in silence for a while, the quiet of the garden wrapping around them like a comforting blanket. Sanemi didn't press her to talk, understanding that sometimes, silence could be more comforting than words.

Eventually, Kanae began to open up, sharing bits and pieces of her thoughts and feelings. Sanemi listened intently, offering words of comfort and understanding when needed. He admired her strength and resilience, even as she struggled with her emotions.

As they talked, Sanemi couldn't help but feel a growing connection to Kanae. There was something about her that drew him in, a quiet strength beneath her sadness that he found deeply compelling. He knew it was too soon to act on these feelings, especially given the complicated situation she was in, but he couldn't deny the spark of something more.

When they finally parted ways that evening, Sanemi watched her go, a sense of resolve settling over him. He was determined to be there for her, to help her navigate the difficult path ahead. And maybe, just maybe, he could help her find her way back to happiness.

Sanemi returned to his guest room, his mind racing with thoughts of Kanae. He knew the road ahead would be challenging, but he was ready to face it. For the first time in a long while, he felt a sense of purpose, a drive to make a difference in someone else's life.

As he lay down to sleep, he found himself looking forward to the days to come, to the moments he would share with Kanae and Giyu, maybe Shinobu?? He didn't know what the future held, but he was ready to face it head-on, with the hope that, in time, things would get better for all of them.

A/N

Short chapter... I know... like I said in the beginning, this will most likely be my last time writing in POV, because it gets confusing to write. Or I am just dumb. Either or.
