New York flood apocalypse.

If you don't know why the flood is considered the most dangerous parasite in fiction history,its because the flood are basically Halo's version of zombies but unlike most zombies,they are smart,especially when their in the transgalactic stage.

To give you some a simple run down how the Flood operates and what it's all about will be explained right now.

When a flood form such as the infection form hijacks your body or if you breathe in flood spores or touch a flood supercell your flesh will rot almost instantaneously,turning it a sickly yellow.

When you are infected you will experience extreme pain. Bones being snapped and your organs being turned to mush to make room for the flood infection form to highjack your body. Not only is it physically excruciatingly painful it's also mentally painful,imagine having several mental illnesses all at once.

But you would be dead during the infection of your body. Even if you are a dead body the flood will still take over your body because the flood need Biomass to not just survive but to get into different parts of their evolution.

The feral stage is where they don't have the intelligence to use weapons or have any human levels of intelligence but it is their main goal to create a Proto-gravemind if a proto-gravemind is exists then the flood are in the coordinated stage.

In the coordinated stage the flood combat forms are much more intelligent,intelligent enough to use weapons such as guns,rocket launchers and even operate vehicles such as airships,tanks,jeeps,ghosts and even spaceships.

If you are infected by the flood in the coordinated stage then your memories,knowledge and wisdom will be harvested to make the flood even more intelligent then it already is.

However if a gravemind exists then we're talking about end of the world level of theat. I mean for a gravemind to exist there had to be entire ecosystems consumed by the flood and even pure forms can be created.

Pure forms require no host and would be made from the biomass that the gravemind would be made from and from this bio mass are ether tank forms,juggernauts,stalker forms,ranged forms and a lot more.

Tank forms are cumbersome,slow but very,very durable because they are made to be tanks. They can withstand alot of gunfire and dish out devastating melee hits from its club like arm. Even Spartan's like the master chief struggle to take these guys down.

Stalker forms are not really that dangerous because they are only just to scout out an area but they are slippery,fast and extremely agile. They can Dodge bullets by running or leaping away and even Spartan's like the master chief struggle to hit them.

Ranged forms are obviously flood forms that can shoot spikes that can infect you from a range,to protect yourself from them you would need an energy shield like Master Chief's or an Elites energy shield.

Juggernauts are big,tough and have incredibly long arms for long hitting attacks and are extremely strong. They were able to scale a wall with nothing but their arms.

If you think your technology is safe from the flood then you are gravely mistaken. The flood can corrupt your technology and turn it against you. If they could corrupt the forerunners technology then they can definitely corrupt our technology today.

But the flood can be combated,as it turns out shotguns and fire are a great way to deal with them because of their rotten flesh. Shotguns would destroy the body of the combat forms because the many pellets in the shells would shred the bodies of the host,making them crumble to nothing but a body or just dismembered limbs.

If you use a flamethrower against the flood then you have a great weapon against the flood but as you know Flamethrowers aren't standard issue for militaries and even machine guns are effective against the flood because they are essentially bullet hoses and the faster you can destroy the body of the floods host the faster you can kill them.

But if fire the halo rings you won't kill the flood but you will starve them into extinction but that comes at the countless lives of nearly everything in the galaxy.

These videos show how much of a threat the flood actually is and I think New York,hell the bloody world would be consumed by the flood in just a few hours. If the UNSC,Covenant or even the forerunners couldn't defeat them then modern day earth wouldn't stand a chance.
