Lily’s POV
Rydel finally came down stairs and we all went outside to figure out the driving arrangements. “Okay let’s see,” Riker said, “there’s one, two, three… seven of us. Let’s try to take the least amount of cars possible.”
“We can take my van,” Ratliff suggested.
“Shot gun!” Ryland called.
“No fair!” Ross whined, “We don’t even know if we’re going in his car yet!”
“Actually I think we should go in Ratliff’s van. We would all fit,” Riker said crushing Ross’s dreams.
“Man,” Ross said while Riker climbed into the very back.
“Yes!” Ryland cheered getting into the front. I went in and sat next to Riker and of course Rocky sat on the other side of me. Ross and Rydel got in and I noticed Ross glaring at Rocky. I looked over at him and saw him glaring back.
I nudged Riker, “What’s with them?” I whispered, nodding my head towards the Ross and Rocky glare down.
He looked over, “It’s nothing. Rocky,” he said getting his attention. Rocky looked over and they shared a look. What was that about? I looked at Rocky and he just shook his head at me signaling it was nothing. Whatever, I decided to ignore it.
During the ride Riker was asking me a bunch of questions. He was pretty cool and we got along great. I noticed that Rocky had slipped his arm on top of my seat behind me but I didn’t let it bother me.
Ross looked back to talk to me and froze when he saw Rocky’s arm then he was glaring at him again. I looked at Rocky and he was smirking. “Okay what’s going on with you too?” I asked looking back and forth from the two boys.
“What do you mean?” Ross asked.
“You guys have been glaring at each other practically the whole ride, what’s up?” Everyone looked at each other and then looked down. “Is there something going on that I don’t know about?” I asked but was again ignored.
“Umm we’re here,” Ratliff said.
“Great, last one in pays!” Ryland said getting out the car. Everyone started getting out ignoring my question.
“Rydel please what’s going on?” I asked her.
She looked at me with sad eyes. “I want to tell you Lily but it’s not my place,” she said walking inside. Great so everyone knew something that I didn’t apparently. I hate when that happens. Everyone had made their way inside already but I was taking my time.
I walked in and didn’t see anyone I guess they already went to the rink. “Don’t worry I got it,” I heard Rocky say. I turned around and saw him. “Damn it Rocky, you have to stop sneaking up on me.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to,” he said smiling, “Who knew you were so easy to scare. Two please,” he said to the ticket person. Turning towards me he said, “Do you want skates or blades?”
“You don’t have to pay for me.”
“It’s fine now do you want skates or blades?”
“Blades, please.” If he wanted to pay I wasn’t going to argue.
“Sizes?” the lady asked.
“8,” I said.
“12.”
“Dang big foot,” I joked, laughing.
“What are you talking about? That’s average for guys.”
