It was already bright out, but the curtains were closed and the living room was dimly lit. As the month of December approached, the temperature in Daegu had dropped again, causing a wider difference in temperature in the morning, afternoon and in the evening.
Lisa had already sat on the sofa next to Jungkook. It hadn't been long since she woke up and she only had a thin long-sleeved t-shirt and trousers on. She felt a little cold after removing her jacket and a small shiver worked its way through her body.
The emotion gradually drained from Jungkook's face and he didn't move.
Leaning forward, Lisa slowed down. Inch by inch, she moved closer, as she waited for him to stop her with his words. However, even when she was only half a meter away from Jungkook, he remained silent, only staring at her with interest.
Lisa had to stop and waited quietly.
Just as watching a play, Jungkook remained as still as a rock.
...
Before he showed any signs of stopping her, Lisa didn't lean any closer, resigning from her show.
"You should understand now, if you don't lock the door, this kind of thing would happen."
Jungkook laughed, "What kind of thing?"
The closer they were, the stronger his presence was and Lisa had lost her courage to say anything. She glanced up at the time and shifted the topic. "I'll go prepare for work first."
Jungkook tilted his head and said slowly, "Nothing happened at all."
Lisa looked at him.
Most of the blanket over Jungkook's body had slid to the ground, but he didn't bother picking it up. His brows showed his arrogance and his expression was domineering, like he was not afraid of anything, as if he didn't take her words seriously at all.
Lisa didn't bother entertaining him and bent down to pick up the blanket. She was holding on to the corner of the blanket and was about to say something when she suddenly felt the other end of the blanket being yanked.
She hadn't let go and couldn't react in time.
Her body was tugged forward and landed on Jungkook.
The safety bubble between them vanished in an instant.
Lisa held her breath and subconsciously supported herself against the cushion by his side, but that wasn't enough to buffer it. The tip of her nose rubbed lightly against Jungkook's chin and when she raised her head, she met Jungkook's dark eyes.
His breath, along with his whole body, was fiery.
For a while, Lisa forgot to react.
Jungkook's gaze was intense, mixed with mystery. His Adam's apple was deeply contoured and it visibly shifted. His eyes slid down and fixed over her lips for two seconds before moving back up.
For some reason, Lisa's throat felt dry.
"What's wrong?" Jungkook suddenly spoke, his voice slightly hoarse. "Do you dare to this time?"
...
Those words pulled Lisa's sanity back to herself. She stepped back and sat straight. In the moment of chaos, she didn't really register what Jungkook had meant and simply denied, "No."
Jungkook raised his gaze without changing his expression.
Lisa vaguely added, "Probably next time."
Using the time as an excuse, Lisa didn't stay in the living room, got up and returned to her room. She entered her toilet and squeezed some toothpaste onto her toothbrush, stopped, and slowly steadied her breaths.
