Aditya walked back to his chambers only to be taken off guard by a firm body hugging him. "Why did you never tell me?" She asked, sniffing softly.
"What are you talking about?" He asked, hugging her back, smiling at her cute face.
"Are you still harsh on yourself about that incident? I told you to forget about it. We need to move on too. I am here with you." She said, pulling away from the hug, looking at him with her arms still wrapped around his torso.
"I cannot forget that day truthfully, but I have overcome that. And did you by any chance listen to our conversation?" He asked, smiling at her.
"I wanted to call you for a quick talk and I found you with Paa, I couldn't help but stay and listen. I am sorry for eavesdropping but you should have told me right. That you fear losing me. Aditya, we can only overcome our fears only if we share them. I love you and I wish to spend the rest of our life together. I am not going anywhere. Stop troubling yourself please." She requested, making Aditya sigh softly. Aditya wrapped his arms tighter, hugging her closer.
"Let me be honest with you Meena, I love you, a love so powerful that it consumes me so much. I am afraid we won't last. Call me a coward but all I can say is that this is the fear I have."
"Aditya, we all have to die one day, lose one another to the evils of time. I–I thought that I could get away with death, things are going to end one day. In that span of time, unknowingly I did two things. One was to live without regrets, even today I don't have any. And the other is to live without worrying about tomorrow. I had heard our maids whispering how unfortunate I am and how bad my birth was, and how unfortunate was the man who would marry me. It was in those moments I realized that I would live well, live a good life for myself and not try to impress others at all. Everyone discouraged me from getting trained, they gossiped about my life, made fun of my appearance and outfits. But I am happy that I am here with you and I would go through all that if it leads me to you, Aditya. Fear is always about the unknown and you can never know anything about yourself perfectly. Let's just live our best and leave the rest."
Aditya wordlessly nodded, taking in everything she said. He let out a breath of sigh, and kissed her forehead. "Thank you for choosing to love me and staying by me. I love you so much."
"You shall always find me by your side. All you need is to lean whenever you need. It's okay to take a break, to pause and to rest before you embark again. And this sher of mine has always been too active, hunting and fighting. Maybe it's time you lay back and see what your Sherni can do."
"Sher huh? Grrrgh." He made a sound of growl making her chuckle. "This Sher wants to hunt now, hunt and ravage his Sherni, is that allowed?" Aditya slowly trailed his fingers down her body, his fingers hardly touching her yet erupting a sense of shiver and heat in her. Aditya's eyes never left hers. His fingers had a mind of their own while his gaze stayed steady on her face. Meenakshi cupped his face and smashed her lips with his, kissing him fiercely. Aditya's hands found their way back to her face, cupping her neck, as he kissed her back with the same intensity.
His hands trailed down pulling her close by her waist. Meenakshi moaned into the kiss as she moved closer trying to reduce the tiniest distance between them. Aditya broke the kiss, both of them panting heavily, as they gazed into each other's eyes. "We need to stop before we become busy that does not concern the state." Aditya whispered his lips brushing hers. Meenakshi nodded and pulled away, only to be pulled back again, into his rock hard chest.
"I am sure we can keep kissing." Aditya kissed her before she could even comprehend his words. Meenakshi smiled into the kiss, making Aditya smirk in satisfaction. Her fingers trailed into his hair, tugging them as they put their mouths at work, leaving their hands to themselves.
"We need to head back, we shall be missed." Meenakshi spoke in between the kiss. Placing another long kiss on his cheek, she pulled away and walked to the mirror to set her hair and saree in place. Aditya followed her and hugged her from behind, pulling her close to him, and placed a chaste kiss on her hairs. Meenakshi smiled before she smiled around and tugged his collar, setting them in place. Her fingers had skillfully crumpled them and now it looked like a hot mess. Placing her palms firmly on his chest, and smoothening the creases, Meenakshi took a step back to see if he looked fit for the court. Patting his chest one last time, she walked away, their gazes locked onto each other until they were no more in sight.
