Death was hard. It makes you angry. It makes you mad at the world. But most importantly it tears you apart and leaves you to suffer.
Death was an old friend to Alicia. She had lost her brother, her parents, her two best friends, and now she was sitting on the floor, her own daughter's blood coating her arms.
She stood up, ripping away from Daryl. "Where are you going?" He asked meekly.
"I'm gonna kill her." She growled, storming out of the trailer. She marched up to Sasha, her gun drawn. She pressed it against the woman's temple. "Give me one fucking reason why I shouldn't pull this trigger right now."
"Please." Sasha begged. "She got away from me!"
"So it's her fault!?" Alicia snapped. "It's Jordan's fault that she's dead!? She's two! She's a fucking two year old, she doesn't know any better!"
Tears streamed down Sasha's face as she looked at Alicia, fear evident in her eyes. "I didn't mean for this to happen."
"I don't give a damn what you meant to happen." She said lowly. "My daughter is dead. You were supposed to be watching her. You let her run away. You are the reason my baby is gone!"
Her fire came in contact with Sasha's jaw, knocking her to the ground. Alicia straddled her, punch after punch landing on her face.
A pair of arms pulled her off, and Alicia turned to see Maggie. "Let me go." She growled.
Maggie hesitatingly released her, taking a step back. "Alicia." She warned.
Daryl was beside Maggie now, staring at his wife. "Ali, darlin' hand me the gun." He said quietly.
She shook her head, aiming it at Sasha's head. "You wanted to see how much like my father I could be... well here you fucking go."
"Alicia no!"
It was too late, Daryl couldn't stop her. The gunshot sounded and Sasha was dead. Everyone stared at her, and people started to gather around the scene.
"You killed her." Daryl whispered.
Alicia scoffed, more hot tears flowing down her face. "She killed our daughter, Daryl."
Greggory had pushed to the front of the crowd, his eyes wide at the sight before him. "What the hell?"
Alicia walked towards him, shoving her gun into his hands and leaving it with him. "Decide what you want to do with me. I'll be in the trailer."
Without another word she stormed into the trailer, Daryl following her. "What the fuck was that?" He snapped, slamming the door.
Alicia pulled a bottle of whiskey from the cabinet, ignoring him. She didn't bother getting a glass, taking a large swig from the bottle.
Daryl slammed his hands on the table in front of her. She flinched, looking up at him. "Answer my fucking question Alicia!"
She turned her head, blinking back tears. "She's killed my daughter and so I killed her."
Daryl sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, and now Greggory's gonna have you killed! He already didn't trust you Ali! They're gonna fucking kill you!"
She nodded, taking another swig of the bottle. "Yeah."
He grabbed her face, forcing her to look at him. "Why are you not worried? They will kill you." He pleaded with her.
"Why does it matter anymore?" She mumbled. "Why should I live?"
Daryls whole demeanor changed. His eyes softened and his shoulders went slack. "Please Alicia." He pleaded. "I can't lose you too."
The begging tone of his voice was almost enough to make her cry again. But she couldn't. She couldn't feel anything. "Where would I go?" She scoffed. "I can't stay here, I can't go to Alexandria or the kingdom, they'll know where I am."
Daryl just stared at her with a knowing look. Soon she caught on to what he was thinking. "You'll be safe there." He assured her.
"I just lost my fucking child, I'm not going back." She snapped.
"You'll go." He said sternly. When she shook her head he sighed heavily. "Alicia if I have to fucking drag you there I will. I will not lose you to."
She stood up, walking over to him and wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. "Why her?" She asked quietly.
He ran a hand through her hair, trying his best to stifle the sobs that wracked his body. "I don't know." He choked out. "I wish I did."
She nodded, pulling away to look up at him. "You'll be ok?" She asked. "You'll be alright here?"
He nodded, kissing her forehead. "Promise."
Wordlessly she walked away, grabbing her bag and putting what little belongings she had into it. Once she was ready, she walked to the door, turning to look at him.
"I love you." She whispered.
"I love you too."
She left, unsure of the next time she would see her husband again. She made her way to the back, standing in front of their escape route.
With a last look back at Hilltop she left. Her whole world changed by one bad decision.
Alicia Dixon was spiraling.
