     Adeline The Magician

Now that they were in the land of Jezabelle, Adeline peered out the carriage. She was in awe in how much the weather had changed. The continent of Internia consisted a desert, snow, forest, and great plain biomes. And when going between the 4 lands the weather would drastically change between the biomes. Typically, ecosystems naturally blended out and in, it was the opposite for Internia as it felt like the changes fell at a drastic drop off point. It was an unnatural phenonium that only happened in Internia. It was up for debate if this was the effect of Internia being across the equator line or was it the old roots it had with the old gods.

"This weather is so much different than the land of Olec" Teresa looked into the distance and then psyching herself out from looking.

"One thing that hasn't changed though is the scenery," Teresa added.

Jezabelle was a damp forest.  The trees rose up high until they disappeared into a cloudy fog The trees were so wide and broad that the average cabin was thin in comparison, making the group feel as minuscule as an ant.

"Adondai how did you know when to show up? Was it true you just wanted to lure that man out," Teresa asked almost pressing him. Adeline gazed at Teresa knowing what she was doing but she was also curious about it as well.

Adondai grew a giant smile on his face like he always did, "The goal was all the same. For the retrieval for the amulet. I gave you girls the deadline of 3 days this time. I just wanted to see if you guys would complete the task promptly or reluctantly. But to think the task was done in a night is nothing but superb. After I left the rendezvous point , I spent the day meditating in those snowy mountains of Olec. On my way back I heard the skirmish."

Teresa slowly left off the conversation almost in disappointment. She turned away letting her arms dangle off the carriage.

Adeline leaned in closer still slightly stunned, "And that man, Julius was his name. How did you two know each other?"

Adondai spoke hesitantly. "I knew him in my earliest days as a philosopher and as a saint. ," He paused, "Akumahs, humans poisoned by a dark matter. The metamorphopsias that only brings chaos. At a time me and Julius both studied a certain dark matter that dated back thousands of years ago. It was to a religious degree. But after Julius' transformation I realized 4 things. First the dark matter or poison the akumahs held would cause the cursed transformation sometimes as a mindless devil or sometimes retaining their intellect on rare occasions. Second and for this fact the dark matter and the power the Old Omen (gods) needed to be gatekept. I lost a friend and I envied my old life." He was quiet for a moment and then he laughed radiantly, "But now I have my students to assist me in this endeavor. When you girls become fully trained witches use your powers and knowledge for a universal purpose."

Teresa rolled her eyes at Adeline. "We're glad we can assist , Master Adondai."

Night slowly dissipated. The fog started to be lifted by the morning sun. If anybody were to run into akumahs it would be under the moon's bright gaze. As it was in their natural as humans are with the sun.
