Athena The Akumah
Athena separated herself from the group trailing through the dark forest. Deidamia spoke to her, "A word "Athena." She was silent for a moment, thinking about ignoring him but shortly replied, "What is it?" "Why that name," He asked. Athena took a moment to gather her thoughts. She wasn't sure why she picked it. It was just the first thing that came to mind. "To tell you the truth I had just made it up on the spot. But recently I had also read a book about the Greek goddess Athena. In some stories she was the goddess of war and some the goddess of protection. I've been running for almost an hour now and I haven't even broken a sweat, so I think its fits with who I want to be." "You think so? Interesting," Deidamia said almost approving.
Athena stopped returning back to the cliff she fell off of. She couldn't help feeling an uncomfortable amount of turning in her stomach. It felt like giant waves swirling around. And at any moment the waves would burst from her insides. "This is the last thing Antenna needs to do before passing." She peaked over the edge examining the rocky side of the cliff. The sight of a scraped bloodstain of the rock she fell against caused her to tremble slightly. She turned away from the edge. "When Quintin was in face it reminded me there was something I needed to do before I go further."
She continued up the trail following a stream of blood. It stops. Hanging off the side of the trail she met her father. His skin had become completely dark as his veins were highlighted black. She had never seen someone this infected before. There was a purple substance that foamed out his mouth profusely. Athena stood over him focusing her senses. She listened hearing his heart beat out of sync with his breath. "He had been silently suffering here." His eyes peered out lifelessly. He was passed they point of sense. His body was alive, but he might as well have been brain dead.
"Now can I ask a question?" Athena asked Deidamia. "If you must. Ask away." He emphasized, "But just one question and one question only." "What am I? That akumah called me a tier 3? Am I really a devil?" He didn't hesitate, "Of course you are. I promise you no one human is talking to a voice in their mind. But If you are asking if you're a bad omen or something pure...You're far from pure. But in the realm of humans living to die who truly gets to say what's evil and what's good. But for you and I will make this clear that those philosophical questions won't apply to you. I own you and your actions will follow my desire. I advise you to never forget that if you truly want to live your life to the fullest."
Athena took a moment to digest what he was saying. "I understand. I still assume you won't lead me any help." "I lent you enough of my help today." "And if I die?" "I'd imagine Athena would protect herself before protecting anyone else. But then again, the goddess Athena is a myth. Now please no more questions." "Fine," Athena said retorting. Deidamia was right. If Athena wanted to protect, she would have to protect herself first. Even if it meant letting go the things she once loved.
Athena figured if she left her father to be turned, he would end up as one of the mindless akumahs. She got down and sat on top of him. "No matter how many times you hit me; the amount of times you belittled me" She stuck the revolver against his head. "--the amount of times you were lying to me to make me feel bad, I'm glad you were my father." Athena pulled the safety off her revolver. "Together you and Antenna will die together." She receded, ripping a piece of his clothing wiping the foam off his mouth. She got up, taking one last look at her father. She lost composure as tears flooded her eyes. "Good bye, Father." She shot. The bullet caused his body to shake uncontrollably as if his blood veins would burst. She shot again. She shot until her chambers where emptied. "I love you. I love you. I love you."
