Antenna The Abused

Blood profusely dripped onto the ground seeping into the cracks of the wooden floorboards. "Don't lie to me, Antenna. What happen to the food in the pantry." The side of Antenna's face stung. The pain blocking out any and all sound into her ear.

The hit was sudden causing her to be in a daze as she went to feel the blood leak from her lip. "Oh, He hit me," She thought.

Antenna felt a hand being tighten around her throat. She looked up into the man's eyes filled with black fire. "You should have died with your whore mother!" She felt herself being slightly lifted off the ground and thrown to the ground.

She wanted to succumb to the pain, but she pushed her words out, "I didn't take any food." She felt a violent kick to her side, "You're a liar just like your mother."

An empty insult. "Mother," She thought. "Did I ever have a mother."

The old man stood over Antenna, "Look at me," Antenna dragged her head up looking at the man with an empty expression. He peered into her blank eyes only seeing her innocence, It pissed him off, "Why are you lying right now!" He punched his fist into a wooden beam and left, taking a swig of vanilla spiked vodka.

Antenna got up hearing a train going past the village. She went outside to the town's lake to wash her wound. "Are you alright, girl?" There was a woman across from her bathing in the lake. Antenna awkwardly smile, "Yes, I'm alright. I just busted my lip."

The whole town knew of Antenna Leroy, the girl that got beat by her drunken father. The blonde woman gave her a warm smile, "If you need any help at any time let me know." Antenna continued her awkward smile. She didn't know what she was saying. She ran off.

She went behind her ragged house looking to see if what she left was still there. She moved a couple of old crates that were probably infested with spiderwebs. A mouse ran from under the house moving pass the crates making her, "Eep!" She preceded to grab a tan sack and pushed the crated back in place.

Before leaving she climbed onto one of the crates she peered into a hole. Her father was now blacked out in his bed. She nervously smiled and jumped off the crate and ran to the train tracks.

It was a late sunny summer day with the temperature being ungodly. The heat was unavoidable. It only added to Antenna's pain. But that was okay to Antenna.

Her speed walk transformed into a jog then into a full sprint. There was a sense of excitement, sprinting along the wooden train tracks as home disappeared from her mind.

She laughed, she spun and skipped as she went past the rocky mountains that peaked to the setting sun. The late air warmed her core. She was free.

As the tracks shifted to the north Antenna went south. She skidded down a hill down to an old ran down barn. The doors were locked shut but was irrelevant due to one of the doors being desecrated from the waist down.

"Antenna is that you," The voice echoed outside.

Antenna came through the desecrated hole holding her tan sack tightly. She wore an unbreakable smile on her face, "Mr. Hiro I got the food you wanted." She ran passed the hay on the ground to the wooden boarded floor.

The figure sat up welcoming Antenna's smile. He was handsome but also being aged. Only a countless amount of fist fights could mold his charming face. Most days he felt like he could conquer the world but those seem have past. His name was ironic, because in his mind he wasn't a hero.
