Caroline sat on the boats couch as she looked out into the water. Zak was getting everything ready for the small trip he was going to take her on. He refused to have her help him. He sat her down and had her wait for him.
She fiddled with her fingers as he went to the wheel. He started the boat, and it started off after a moment. She held on, looking around her as the dock and house started getting smaller and smaller from view.
Soon, Zak stopped the boat, and went over to her with the lifejacket. He sat beside her also putting the lifejacket down beside him. He leaned over and got the cooler with her food in it. He handed her the sandwich she made for herself. Even the salad, which he placed beside her.
Caroline looked down as she started eating. His arm behind her. She thought all of this was to only comfort her. To only help her. But she didn't see that she was in danger. Well in her eyes it would be dangerous. To him, it was a romantic gesture.
He looked at her as she ate her lunch. A frown on his face. She was so sad. How can his nephew be so awful. She has done so much for everyone while here. She cooked for everyone, she offered to get more alcohol for everyone. She cleans up after them as well.
He learned that Caroline also came from money. So, he assumed as to why his fuckwat of a nephew wanted her here, so he didn't have to spend his father's money. He knew that his nephew didn't have a job. Zak's brother spoiled his son.
Zak reached over and touched some of her hair.
"I don't want you to worry about Matt. I'll handle him. He should know better. I will make sure he pays you back for everything you've paid for. I'm very ashamed of his actions. I will make sure his parents are ashamed as well." He told her. Her hair was soft in his fingers.
She looked at him. "I knew that I was just a pity invite. I knew it. But I still came." She told him with a shrug. "I was just happy to be tagging along. Having it said out loud by someone just... just hurt." Caroline told him.
He frowned more. He moved everything from between them and moved closer to her.
"You know that the girls are happy you are here. Point taken as Melenie is happy with you here. I am happy you are here. I'm very happy you are here." He told her. She kept looking at him as he continued speaking.
"I have enjoyed getting to know you. I have enjoyed your company. I actually would like to get to know you more." He told her before leaning in and kissed her softly. He felt her tense up. She must be surprised that he loved her.
That's what it was. He fell in love with her the moment he saw her. And he was going to love her more than anyone could ever love her.
He deepened the kiss, but she didn't know what to do. He tried to ease her into the kiss. His other hand went to her thigh and messaged it. She gasped and he was able to taste her. Something he's been wanting to do since setting his eyes on her.
Caroline pulled away. She looked at him with wide eyes. It made him chuckle a bit, it was so cute how innocent she was to him. He stroked her face with the hand that had been in her hair.
She moved away. "Um. Can we go back now please?" She asked softly. His smile faltered a moment. "Are you sure? We can get into the water." He offered. She shook her head no. "Food and moving water isn't agreeing with me I guess." She told him, hoping he believed her. She didn't want to seem rude about this.
She hadn't been aware that he felt that way towards her. She thought he was just being a friendly host. But kissing her like that... She didn't know what to make of it. She didn't get attention like that. Well, none that she noticed to be honest.
He nodded and kissed her head before getting up. He went away from her to get them back to shore. She looked out on the water. Her brain going 100 miles an hour at everything that has happened just today alone.
Did she miss something? Probably.
But she honestly didn't think this man would be attracted to her like this. And she didn't know how she felt about it. It was all new to her. Maybe she should talk to someone about it? But who?
Her head started hurting from all this thinking. She wanted to lay down by now.
Coming here was a mistake. A big one.
