The hybrid turned towards her, surprised to see her outside of the shack.
- Maria! Y-you're awake!
- er... Of course i am.
- No you don't understand, you've been out for about a week!
- WHAT?!
She put her hand on her head, still hurting. Unconscious for a week... That's way too long. Looking around she saw there were really tall trees. Vines were decorating their branches and a couple of birds could be seen in the distance. They were clearly on an island judging by the faraway beach she could see on both sides of their location. They were lucky to have fresh water at their disposition. She limped towards the water and drank a little.
- There's food in a little wooden box right beside the tent thing i made.
- Okay, thanks Jessie....
Maria looked away, since she met Jessie she felt incredibly uncomfortable. She was scared that the hybrid was a spy of some sort, coming from a different facility. She made her way to the food box and ate a couple of fruits that were in there, starving. Thinking of a whole week without food only made her even hungrier but she realized there wasn't much food inside the box.
- I couldn't find much and i'm having trouble hunting since my tail's injured...
- i could try to hunt later. Now i need to know how we got here. You better have a satisfying explanation.
- Hey, it's not because you don't trust me that you should treat me like this! For your information i saved you tail. You should thank me instead of acting as if you were a rooster.
- A- a rooster?
- Nevermind. We were flying to get back home when a whole group of military like choppers started shooting at us. You don't remember the battle? There was at least 15 of them! I took control of one while you took care of the another but a missile hit the one you were on. After setting mine on self destruct mode i flew to catch you but my tail got hit by one of the chopper's blade. I caught you and we fell in the ocean. I did my best to swim but I couldn't get far so i got us here. I didn't do much exploring and I didn't want to leave you like that on the island to do an attempt to reach home. Anyways I don't think i'll be able with my tail like this.
Maria couldn't remember the battle so she started thinking.
- I don't remember anything... Did they have a logo of some sort?
- I don't think so. I was too busy fighting.
- great. This gets us nowhere.
Maria's two sets of ears sprung back and she angrily turned around to think of a way to get back home. Looking towards the forest she wondered if they could find a way to get home and soon.
- Hey, what's your problem?! I saved your life and all i get is this attitude?
- Look, i don't like you and you know that. Thank you for saving me but now we're not going to stay in the same place. I'm going to make my camp somewhere else.
- you can't even walk properly with that leg and your wing is broken. You shouldn't go anywhere. You should just set aside the fact you don't like me, we need to work together to survive now!
- Trust me Jessie, you don't want to get me mad!
- i saw you mad before, you don't scare me!
They stared in each other in the eyes for a long time, almost being a staring contest but whoever would stare away would get their egos hit pretty hard. Maria didn't trust Jessie and there was no way she would cooperate with her. She was certain that the reason she was injured had something to do with her but she had no proof, she just thought it was logical. She was judging her. Maria didn't take time to know her when they met but she didn't care. Better safe than sorry. She didn't realize how ridiculous her motives were. She didn't even take time to think about it. Jessie sat without a word, looking at her and she did the same.

- Hey, Maria, i wanted to talk to you...
Max entered Maria's room, looking worried and sad.
- What do you want max...
- it's Jack... He-
- get out.
- What? But...
- GET OUT
Max came to her, she was in a little ball on the corner of her bed, looking at him, or so it seemed, her having no pupils or irises. He was about to put a hand on her shoulder to comfort her but she pushed him to the ground, kicking him in the stomach.
- I TOLD YOU TO GO AWAY! ,she screamed, in a sob.
- I DON'T TRUST YOU! I DON'T TRUST ANYONE! JACK LIED TO ME! JACK IS THE REASON I CAN'T REMEMBER WHO I WAS, HE'S THE REASON I'M A MONSTER! YOU'RE ALL TRAITORS! We were friends...
Max got up and coughed. He gave maria one last glance, a frustrated frown and sighed before leaving the room with a hand on his stomach.
- This trust issue'll get you nowhere Maria. You should snap out of it because you're mixing everything and creating a big lie. Come see me when you've calmed down.
He slammed the door behind him leaving her there, boiling in rage. She looked at her tail, bad memories rushing through her mind, until she fell asleep.

Maria looked away, the memory of Max's comment troubled her. She looked around as if she woke up for the first time, confused of its meaning. She was only brought to reality when Jessie got back up, her tail in her arms, looking at Maria with a obvious frustration. She walked past Maria but stopped.
- you're stuck here with me wether you like it or not and this trust issue of yours'll get you nowhere Maria. If you don't stop this you'll get confused and you won't understand why you're angry anymore.
