When Dhanish arrived at Zafrin's house, he was greeted warmly by her mother, Naziya. "Auntie, where's Zaid?" he asked, striving to maintain a casual tone.

Naziya looked at him with a slight frown. "He went to his friend's house earlier. I thought he mentioned you. Didn't you know?"

Feigning surprise, Dhanish shook his head. "Oh, no, I didn't."

Just then, Zafrin stepped out of her room, clearly prepared for dinner. She froze for a moment upon seeing Dhanish, her emotions barely masked. "I'm not really hungry right now. I'll eat later," she said, trying to avoid his gaze.

Naziya, ever the caring mother, insisted, "Zafrin, you should eat with us. Come, sit down."

With a resigned sigh, Zafrin joined them at the dining table. Zanya, her younger sister, chattered away, creating a lively atmosphere. "Dhanish Bhaiya, are you going back to Canada soon?" Zanya asked innocently.

Dhanish smiled, his eyes flickering to Zafrin. "No, Zanya. I've got something important to do here. I won't be leaving anytime soon." His words hung in the air, a silent message to Zafrin.

As they sat down to dinner, the conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and teasing. Zafrin's father, Ahmed, was particularly affectionate, pampering Zafrin with extra servings of her favorite dishes. She blushed under his attention, especially when she caught Dhanish's amused gaze.

The dining room was filled with the rich aroma of traditional dishes. Naziya had prepared a feast, including biryani, dosa, and a variety of chutneys, reflecting their love for the region's cuisine. The family's bond was evident in the way they interacted, with love and warmth radiating through their every action.

Later, the family gathered in the living room. Zaid returned from his friend's house, adding to the warmth of their company. The conversation drifted towards their favorite family traditions and trips they had taken in the past.

"Dad, we should plan another trip," Zaid suggested eagerly. "How about Ladakh? We haven't been there in ages."

Ahmed's eyes lit up at the idea. "That sounds like a great idea, Zaid! It's been too long since we went on a family trip."

Naziya chimed in, "Yes, let's invite Dhanish. It would be wonderful to have him join us."

Dhanish caught Zafrin's eye and leaned in closer, whispering, "Looks like we'll be spending more time together."

Zafrin's cheeks turned a deeper shade, but she quickly looked away, trying to act unaffected by his presence.

Zanya, always full of energy, piped up, "Dhanish Bhaiya, have you ever been to Ladakh? It's so beautiful! We can show you all the best spots."

Dhanish smiled warmly at her. "I haven't, Zanya. But I'm looking forward to it, especially with such a great tour guide like you."

Ahmed continued, "We'll need to plan the trip carefully. There are so many places to see-the monasteries, the lakes, the mountain passes..."

Naziya nodded enthusiastically. "And the food! We must try the local cuisine. I've heard so much about Ladakhi food."

Dhanish leaned in closer to Zafrin again, his voice low and teasing, "I'll make sure to save a seat next to me for you, Zafrin. You can tell me all about the best places to visit."
