Five years later
As the airplane cruises through the sky, Zafrin and her best friend Hana settle into their seats, their excitement evident. The long flight becomes a stage for their playful banter.
Hana leans over with a mischievous grin. "So, what's the first thing you're going to do when we land? I bet your family is going to throw the biggest welcome-home party ever!"
Zafrin chuckles, rolling her eyes. "Oh, definitely. I'm expecting a grand feast and maybe even a parade. I've missed Mom's cooking so much. And Roshina? I'm sure she's been plotting ways to fill me in on every single detail of her life."
Hana snorts. "Plotting, huh? Sounds like she's going to have a whole dossier ready for you. And let's be honest, you'll probably end up on a shopping spree anyway. Delhi's fashion scene won't know what hit it!"
Zafri
n laughs, shaking her head. "I'm tempted, but family time is top of my list. Plus, I've got to ease back into the fashion scene. They might need a moment to adjust to my new look."Hana smirks, looking at Zafrin's transformed appearance. "New look, huh? More like a new level of gorgeous. I mean, those hazel eyes of yours are practically hypnotic."
Zafrin grins, her cheeks flushing slightly. "I guess a little change was overdue. But don't expect me to turn into a fashionista overnight."
As they chat, a familiar scent wafts through the cabin, and Zafrin's heart skips a beat. She turns instinctively, expecting to see a familiar face, but the aisle next to her is empty. A fleeting moment of recognition flits across her mind, but she shakes it off. It's been years since she last thought about someone, and she quickly dismisses the scent as a figment of her imagination.
Hana notices Zafrin's distracted expression and leans closer. "What's up? You look like you've just had a moment of déjà vu."
Zafrin laughs softly, brushing off the thought. "Just a flashback, I guess. I thought I caught a hint of something familiar, but it must have been nothing. The past feels like a distant memory now."
Hana raises an eyebrow, playfully. "Distant, huh? Maybe your past is trying to catch up with you. Or maybe it's just me and my endless supply of gossip that's giving you a déjà vu."
Zafrin rolls her eyes, smiling. "Oh, please. If my past wanted to catch up, it would've had to keep up with my current pace. And speaking of gossip, save some stories for when we land. I need to be fully prepared for Roshina's updates."
As the plane continues its journey, Zafrin and Hana's laughter fills the cabin, their conversation a comforting reminder of the homecoming that awaits. The scent is soon forgotten, overshadowed by the anticipation of their arrival and the joy of reconnecting with old friends and family.
