Drops of dew glistened on the leaves and blades of grass in the forest. It was glowing with the sun's light as it had began to rise, and a couple of raindrops were still falling.
One in particular fell right on Max's nose, causing the tan boy to jerk awake and rub his nose with a sneeze.
Great. Staying in those soaked clothes for so long might've given him a cold; and it's possibly the same fate for—
Another sneeze cut off Max's train of thought, and he glanced at the origin of where the noise came from.
Yep. Both of them are sick.
A sigh escaped the curly haired boy as he rubbed his face with his hands. "I could really go for a coffee right now."
"This isn't Starbucks, idiot. It's the middle of the forest." A groggy voice complained from across the pile of sticks that used to be their source of warmth. (Y/N) sat up with an annoyed look and scratched the back of her head.
Max stared wide eyed at the teen's bedhead. "Christ, your hair—"
"Yours looks the same, moron." (Y/N) cut him off almost immediately. Hers was puffed up because of the humidity, and with the amount of times she turned as she slept, it looked like a birds nest. But not so different compared to Max's.
Max looked at her sharply and touched his curly hair, and his eyes widened when he actually felt how disheveled it was. He plucked out one of many leaves and twigs in his hair with a frown.
"This is gonna be a long day." She grumbled to herself, standing up with a stretch. "Let's get moving."
"Yeah, let's." Max complies with a nod, but he didn't get up. "In five minutes." He flops back down with a thud and closes his eyes.
"What?? NO!" A desperate look crossed (Y/N)'s face as she stood above him. "We need to go now, Nikki and Neil are waiting for us."
"Unfortunately, there's no coffee. No coffee, no Max." He replies simply with a shrug. "You could probably go on your own and call for David to come and get me."
"You're insane." The girl deadpans, clearly taking no for an answer as she held Max by his arm and dragged him on the dirt. "I can't believe this is what my life has become of."
Max stayed silent for a couple of seconds as he allowed himself to get dragged on the ground.
"You know, this could work. I don't have to walk and you do all the work."
An annoyed groan was heard above him, and the boy cracked a sly smile on his lips.
She thought that maybe in a couple of minutes, Max would get up and walk on his own. But nope.
(Y/N) had to drag his ass all the way to where the Flower Scouts were located. But not before getting lost numerous times thanks to Max, who purposely pointed in the wrong direction for entertainment.
"Okay... please tell me this is the camp." (Y/N) let go of Max's arm and sat on the ground, out of breath. Said boy hummed to himself as he examined the area from where he laid.
"Yeah, this is it."
He stands up and grimaces at the sight of his hoodie covered in grass, dirt, and maybe bugs. His already dirty hair was probably worse than it was this morning.
