At the zoo

We are all currently waiting in line to get into the zoo. Armani is in line behind the class cause he has to buy his ticket and I'm at the front of the line helping Mr. Addison.

"Okay so we're all gonna wait patiently and quietly until everyone in our group is in line. If your parents are here we are going to wait until we all can get in to separate." Mr. Addison says to the students.

Everyone gets in and Mr. Addison makes another announcement.

"Okay parents you may take your children but we meet back at the bus at 10:30 for lunch. When I call out your name come stand next to Ms. Patrick." He says and points to me.

He's naming off the children who's parents didn't come. They have to stay with us.

"Okay, Janna, Milton, Devan, Kenzie, Briler, Verico, Alex, Yasmine, Valence, Sean, and Tatianna." He says and the kids one by one walk over to me.

"You're Emani's mommy?" The little girl name Janna says while looking up at me.

"Yes ma'am." I say with a smile.

"Emani is my best friend." She says with a wide smile.

"Oh really? What do you two do together in school?" I ask her in a sweet tone.

"We play in our centers, we eat lunch, and we play at recess with Alyssa." She says to me.

"Well I'm glad you two have fun together." I say with a laugh

"Ms. Patrick can Emani and Alyssa come to my birthday party on Saturday?" She asks me curiously.

"Of course they can. When we get back to school I will see if I can get in contact with your parents." I say to her.

"Okay everyone have fun and remember we don't touch, we look, and admire." Mr. Addison says with a smile.

"Mommy!!" I hear Emani yell at me walking over holding hands with Armani.

"Yes?" I say while looking at her.

"You coming with me and daddy?" She asks me.

"No, I have to stay with Mr. Addison. But, you have fun okay and stay with daddy the whole time." I say to her seriously.

"Don't let go of her hand." I say to Armani sternly and he looks pissed off.

It may seem like I'm overbearing but I'm not. Emani will try and run away. I took her to the zoo one time when she was 4 and she thought it would be a fun idea to run away from me and pet the birds that were around us. One pooped on her head and another pecked her finger.

"I'm not." He says rolling his eyes at me.

"Ready to go?" Mr. Addison asks me with a smile.

"Yeah sure." I say and smile back. I hear Armani scoff and then they walk away from us.

"Okay students first we're gonna visit the monkeys." Mr. Addison says while looking at a map of the zoo.
