🌙 STEVEN'S POV 🌙
It's been ten long, agonizing days since Zeremy started acting strange.
Ten days since she vanished back to Seattle without a word, leaving only silence in her wake.
I can't understand it.
Things between us had been beautiful ever since that night at the museum, when we shared something deep, something real. I thought we were closer than ever. I was ready to give myself to her completely, to fall without restraint.
But then she disappeared.
Now I'm left here, hollow and restless, turning her absence over in my mind like a wound that refuses to heal.
Did I say something wrong?
Did something happen to her?
Every time my phone lights up, I hope it's her, but it never is. She doesn't answer my calls, doesn't reply to my messages. The silence has become its own kind of torture.
In desperation, I turn to her social media, scrolling endlessly for clues, anything that could explain this. But her posts have dwindled to almost nothing.
No new photos, no updates.
Just an eerie stillness that mirrors my own.
Is she ignoring me?
Did she meet someone else in Seattle?
An old flame, maybe?
No, that can't be it. I'm probably just overthinking.
Still, I can't stop. My mind runs circles around her, replaying memories like old film reels. Every laugh, every kiss, every word she ever said, searching for hints I might've missed.
Love shouldn't hurt like this, but her absence has carved something sharp into me, something I can't shake off.
Ten days. Ten days of wondering if she's even okay.
Finally, I turn to Layla. If anyone can reach her, it's her.
Layla calls immediately, anxiety etched in her face. The phone rings and rings, the sound stretching like an echo in an empty room. No answer. We try again. Then again.
Each unanswered call feels heavier than the last.
Layla exhales shakily. "I've called her six times. Nothing. This isn't like her."
Her voice trembles just slightly, but I can see the same fear in her eyes that's been eating away at me.
"I don't get it," I murmur. "She loves us. She calls us her family. Why would she just... disappear?"
Layla shakes her head. "I don't know. But something's off. It's like she's hiding something."
Her words hit me harder than I expect. Hiding something. The thought of it lingers, unsettling and cold.
Could Zeremy really be keeping secrets from us?
From me?
I rake my hand through my hair, pacing the room as if movement could keep the dread from swallowing me whole.
"She's never ignored me like this before. I can't shake the feeling that something's wrong. What if she's in trouble?"
Layla nods slowly, worry tightening her face. "Then we'll find her," she says, her tone resolute. "We'll figure this out."
Her conviction gives me something to hold onto. Together, we form a silent pact: we'll search, we'll call, we'll do whatever it takes to find Zeremy. Layla places a gentle hand on my shoulder.
