News of Laena's death is sent to everyone and in Driftmark they were holding the funeral to set her out to sea. It would also be the first time Celeste would see her father in person in a very long time. She felt more sorry for her half sister losing their mother then her father losing his wife. For the ceremony she stood with Rhaenyra, Leanor, and the boys, who happened to stand next to Viserys and his wife and kids. Aegon made sure to stand next to Celeste since he missed having her in Kings Landing.
"Have you talked to your father yet?" Aegon asks as everyone mingles.
"No, and I haven't talked to my sisters either. I hardly know them." Celeste tells him glancing over at her father.
"You know I'm to be married to Helaena... Mother is making us in order to strengthen our family." He lets her know.
"I wish you both the best."
"I wish she was betrothed to Aemond." He takes a glass from a maid to drink.
Celeste looks at him and starts to giggle slightly confusing him, "Sorry, I was just thinking about how you have to produce children with her in the future." He gives her a look, "What? I'm not wrong."
"Get it over with so no one gets on me about taking too long after we wed."
"Hopefully they get their looks from their mother instead of their father." She jokes with him and they start to play bickering with each other.
Alicent watches the two from a distance and her father notices where she was looking, "Something wrong?" He asks her.
"Do you think I made a mistake not wanting Aegon to be wed to Celeste? He has a genuine smile when she's around him."
Otto looks over at the two watching them closer. The way Aegon looked at her and how all it took from her to make him smile was just to look at him. "His mind needs to be clear." Otto tells his daughter.
"But he is happy." She looks at her father.
"Alicent," He just says her name so she nods her head not wanting to argue with him.
As he walks off a bit she looks over at Aegon and Celeste as they continue chatting. She catches sight of Aegon's free hand move to Celeste's hand resting on the ledge. Celeste didn't seem to mind as he played with her hand before holding it.
"Perhaps I should go give my condolences to my sisters now." Celeste looks over at them alone with Jace. "I'll find you afterwards." She leaves his side.
While she walks away to her sisters, Aegon goes to get another drink and another and another till he couldn't drink anymore. Drinking for him was ways he could be free and forget about things.
When Celeste was to go back to Aegon, Rhaenyra asked her to help the boys to bed so she does that first then helps her sisters before going back to find him. It didn't take long because she saw Aemond watch Otto walk o we to him so she watched as well.
