ENTER THE VOID

I.

Wake up to reality, there it was standing in front of me.

A shadowy creature at the corner of my room,

Staring blatantly at my eyes, filling with gloom.

It emerged from the darkness, pulling my leg

I asked for it not to take me, I whimpered and I begged.

It said, "Come with me, dearie, to a place where it will be just you and me."

II.

I entered the void, illuminating the endless world of nothingness.

A loud shriek, a faint and coarse voice whispers,

"And so you shall forever stay with me,

In this dark abyss with all your forgotten hopes and dreams.

Why do you try? You don't belong to the world, you belong here."

Its voice creeps into my ears, its words screwing with my head.

"Come here, darling. Come suffer, my love."

The voice dissipates into nothing more but repetitive whispers in my head.

III.

The light emitted from my being slowly starts to gleam.

An ever growing wonder why I illuminate this void, it seems.

There is a burning flame in my heart that will never go out.

Not even myself can ever put it out.

IV.

I closed my eyes, childish I may be, and wished for escape.

The vile and sinister voice starts to echo away,

I heard my kin's voice, guiding me through all the way.

I opened my eyes, and a glimmering light faces me:

I was in my lover's arms, sullen and groggy.

He kissed my forehead and said, "I'm glad you're here, my love."

A gentle glow painted on my cheeks as he did, I put on a faint grin.

"But I've got so much wickedness and sin."
