About 1 day after the war
"Hades, I need to call in a favor."
However exciting the times were already, Hades was already ready for more fun. As soon as he saw Hecate approaching the throne, he knew something was coming up.
"Sure, what do you want?"
"I need you to give rebirth to Percy Jackson as soon as possible with most of his memories intact except the last bit about him destroying the planet."
Honestly, Hades had already considered making a special case for Percy. It would be hard but he could do it.
"I can try to do it, but I can guess that's not all. Is it?"
"Unfortunately no. Percy will be born but with magical powers. He needs to be a son of Poseidon because no other way can he deal with what would be coming next."
"What's coming next?" Hades asked, confused slightly.
"An event, where if the evil side wins, it will rise up to challenge the gods themselves maybe causing all of our doom. I am sorry but I can't reveal more about this. All that matters is that Percy is the only person who can stop this. Besides, if this works out, Percy might be able to live his childhood once again, this time without running off doing useless quests and fighting wars."
"I can do what you propose to do, but there's like a lot of problems in between. How are we going to get new Percy to become a son of Poseidon? How are we going to erase just the last bit of his memory before rebirthing him?" After some thinking, Hades added nonchalantly, "And of course if Zeus knows about this, things will happen. But that would be fun of course. Let's get to work."
Work was always considered fun by Hades. He had little to do except brooding all day long in his throne room, specially in the summer season. So the prospect of work cheered him up.
On top a long obsidian table, Hades piled down several old scrolls and few books. He rubbed his hands together in excitement and began reading. Hecate joined him by his side and checked out what Hades was doing.
"Reincarnation. It should be somewhere here. Some dude in the 4th century had wrote about it." Hades muttered searching through some real old manuscripts. Finally he seemed to find something. He held the yellow scroll near a light and squinted his eyes to read what was written there.
Hecate peeked at the writings and realized they were not in any language familiar to her.
"Yea, it's in Sanskrit. Luckily I had a 30 years crash course on the language in the early 1900s."
Hades summoned a magnifying glass and after a few minutes of focused reading, he turned to Hecate.
"Is Percy's body still intact?" Hades asked.
"Not really. Zeus electrocuted the dead body, like 20 times during the fight. It's pretty much just ash now." Hecate informed Hades.
Hades seemed disappointed. However in a few more minutes it seemed like a brilliant idea had struck his mind.
"How much ash is still there?" Hades asked.
"Well about a couple hand full, perhaps enough to fill a medium jar." Hecate replied.
"Can we get it as soon as possible?"
Hecate wondered for a moment. She totally forgot about the ash. If Zeus had got it, it would probably be in some garbage bin. If Poseidon or someone on his side got it, it would be kept safe and secure.
"I will go and check it out." Saying so, Hecate flashed out from there, leaving Hades alone there to read the text and scriptures.
