Around in the middle of the night, Lyra woke to her phone buzzing on her nightstand. She groaned internally before grabbing her phone and picking up the call.

"Hello..?" The girl mumbled groggily before her heart sink at the voice of her mother on the other side of the phone.

"Look who decided to pick up." Christine slurred over the phone causing Lyra's heart to pounded against her ribcage and her leg to move anxiously.

"Mother.. why are you calling so late.." Lyra asked before her mother started to scream curses at her over the phone, some words sound slurred while some sound forced.

"You're the reason this family is broken apart, I hope you know that! If I wasn't pregnant with you, your father would still be next to me but no he ran off like some coward, just like you..!" Lyra felt her throat form a lump as her lower lip trembled. The girl's feet were dangling from her bedside as she stared into the dark abyss of her room while she listened to her mother's hurtful words.

Lyra couldn't handle it anymore so she hung up and tossed her phone back on the nightstand. One tear after another came down her cheek before she broke into a full on sobbing mess. Her weeps were silent as her mother's words repeated in her head over and over again. No no no.. you promised Ava! Lyra thought to herself.

Soon enough, Lyra slowly risen from her bed and exited out of the room and made her way to the bathroom.

Away from the other daemos, Rhys had went into the human's death room to call lady grandma to catch her up on things and what they've learned so far. The called ended not that long ago while Rhys continued to flush the toilet as if in hope it would do something else then just mix water.

The sound of the door creaking opened scared the poor Rhys as he glanced at the female human. Rhys observed their body language. Eyes puffy, dark circles under their eyes and slight sniffing. Have they been crying? Rhys asked himself before the human order him to get out.

Rhys followed their order but stayed near the door, he watched as the human sorcerer bent down to the cabinet below the sink and grab something out of it. Lyra felt the daemos presence behind her. "Why are you still here?" She questioned as she glanced back tiredly at the daemos.

"I want to observe how you mix potions." Rhys said softly, Lyra scoffed "you don't know what a toilet is?" Rhys raised an eyebrow and repeated the word that came out the girl's mouth and pronounced it horribly.

"Please just go away.. or I'll unleash my wrath upon you." Lyra glared at Rhys which cause terror to form in his eyes and stuttered out an apology before rushing out the bathroom. Once outside Lyra shouted out. "Just so you know, humans like privacy in this room." Rhys gulped as he calmed down his breathing "Uh yes.. apologies." Lyra chuckled slightly before telling Rhys to go to bed which he happily did.

Once Lyra knew he was gone, she takes out the blade from her hand while her eyes flickered between it and her wrist. "I'm so sorry Ava... you can hate me after this.." the girl mumbled lowly before she broke her best friend's promise...

The next morning, in the living room where the daemos' had slept for the night the prince had woken before all of them. He sat up from the couch before getting up and glanced over at the big window as a scoff left his lips.
