*SLAM *
The sound of the ball hitting the court was so satisfying. Atsumu watched as Sakusa spiked the ball with his freakishly weird wrists. Gross. (It's a compliment btw and cannon in the manga in which Atsu called Omi's wrist talent gross as a compliment💀)
Ushijima and Sakusa seemed to have some unspoken rivalry. Which makes sense since they are 2 of the top 3 aces. Suna worked great as a middle blocker. Even when he wasn't blocking and he was spiking using his weird flexibility that allowed him to avoid a block.
Osamu was great, really great as Atsumu hates to admit. He would always compete with his brother when they were younger. Especially in volleyball.
It was going to be great working alongside them. Having to set them an accurate ball and watch as they flawlessly spike it. Watching as they score of point because of an amazing combo of setting and spiking. Atsumu was really excited now, and happy too. This whole moving away thing really got to him. But now it was gonna be ok. Especially since Atsumu would get to set to Sakusa Kiyoomi and have him hit it.
Practice was now finished and the players were changing getting ready to start their day of school. Atsumu had 5 lessons today, 3 with his brother and 2 with Sakusa.
The first one was maths. First thing in the morning, how wonderful. Just because he was good at maths doesn't mean he likes it.
When he finished all the work before everyone, Osamu was surprised. So was the teacher and because in the system it says Atsumu does college level maths, he did that. The teacher gave him a booklet of college leveled maths, saying if he ever finishes his work he can move unto the booklet. That lesson went by fast.
For the rest of the day everything ran smoothly. In the classes Atsumu had with Osamu he would sit with him. Even when Suna was there. He respected that the twins would want to be together.
Now the classes with Sakusa were a bit different. Atsumu managed to sit next to him but when he tried talking to him he'd simply be ignored or Sakusa would say, "Be quiet and focus on your work Miya."
That was another thing. Calling Atsumu by his family name. He had a twin brother and would have preferred to be called by his given name. Everyone called him Atsumu. Everyone, except for Sakusa.
Whilst doodling in his book Atsumu thought of something. What if he gave Sakusa a nickname? Maybe then he would call Atsumu by his given name. After a few long treacherous minutes of coming up with nicknames Atsumu thought of something.
"Omi!" He stood up from his chair and slammed his hands against the table making his chair fall back in the process. The idea just came to him and he'd gotten too excited about it.
Because of his weird action he caught a few stares and sniggers from people. He quickly sat down after being yelled at by the teacher.
"Wtf is an Omi?"
"You, that's your nickname, Sakusa is now Omi." Atsumu gave one of his best smiles. Something so genuine and pure but there was something different about this smile. It wasn't fake like most of his smiles, in fact it felt true to his heart.
"... " Sakusa remained silent and focused his eyes on the board. Atsumu did the same and he actually started paying attention to the lesson.
If only he had payed attention a little more to Sakusa, he would have noticed a slight tint of pink above his mask on his cheeks and his eyes wrinkled at the corners. Sakusa Kiyoomi was smiling and blushing, all because of Miya Atsumu.
