"Mama wa, dono yō ni u~oresu wa, watashitachi ni kankei shite imasu ka?"

She smiled, she loves when I speak in their tongue, and I just like to make her smile.
"Wallace is our cousin through my twin sister Sara she moved from Japan to Canada and met a man. She gave a glaring smile, but her eyes hide a secret, something awful.
"Go out and play, Watashi no hāpā." I bowed deeply to her and went to get Lynne.
"Mom says we can go outside, let's go!"
Lynne jumped as if the floor was hot lava. We changed out of our cleaning clothes, and left.

"Oh, On'nanoko! Wallace will be here later today. At about 3:00pm." I looked at my cell phone it was only 12:02. "We will be back by then mama." She nodded and shooed us away. "We will be at the park." I called out as we left.
We took the main road to the park. Lynne's white high low dress blow in the warm summer air. I wore my favorite short summer dress with pockets.
"Do you think Venn will be there?"lynne asked. I looked at her with a smirk ."You love him don't you." I teased in the same tone she gave me the week told me Wallace was coming. Her pale skin blossomed red, "What's it to ya?"

I could never tell Lynne this but I knew Venn had a crush on me, but something told me to not go for it. Plus I knew it would break Lynne's heart. We walked through the black gate and down to the jungle gym. I use to loved the jungle gym until my boobs came in, now I just feel ashamed. Lynne was lucky, her were not to big but not to small. I saw Venn underneath a tree, doing nothing special. I decide to walk over to him.

"Hey Venn." He looked up, closing a small book. "Hey Harper wha--" Lynne came sprinting over to us, and clumsily tripping into Venn's arm. "Hey Siren." Lynne giggles like she's never been called that by him. The 3 of us sit and chit chat as the sun sinks behind cypress and cider trees. The low light glows across our faces. Lynne is trying to make the lighting work for her, and I see Venn out of the corner of my eye staring like he's looking at a goddess.

A car pulls up and honks. "That's my dad." Lynne pops up "I'll.... I mean we will walk you to the car. " I shrugged and started across the black top. The car looked like it would croak at any second. A window rolls down, Lynne froze, "Venn that's your dad?!" She stared at the man as if he was a criminal, and from Venn's description he was. the man look at the window as if he were about to yell but he stopped.

The car smelled of booze and weed. His father was smoking a cigarette. He looked at me and nearly dropped it. "Hey Mr. Davis?" He gave me a confused look. "His last name is Sins, Harper, like yours." Venn said as he turns to his dad. He sees tears streaming down his face, his eyes puffy and red.
"Its you." He said
"It's me?" I recalled.
" Where is your mother!" He screamed in anger. I was startled and my anger overcame me. "MY BIRTH MOTHER IS DEAD!" He froze as if this was new information to him. "Who are you?" I asked hoping for the wrong answer.
"Im your father." Lynne and Venn gasped as if they were watching a soap opera. "No. Why are you back!? " I sprinted all the way home, Lynne tagging behind me by only a few feet. I hear her screaming my name all the way home, but I couldn't speak, I couldn't think.
I ran past mom, dad, and Wallace, straight into the bathroom. They came behind me but I shut the door just in time.

"Lynne, what happened, what is wrong with Harper?" Her father asked. Lynne's asthma was beginning to kick in, I could hear the inhaler pumping her lungs with fresh air. I need some my chest was beginning to burn, but no reasonable amount of medicine could fix this.
"Hāpā nani ga okorimashita!" Father asked banging on the door.
" Hāpā oshietekudasai!" Mother begged. I could her the tears of pain in her voice, she knew what had happened.
"I saw my dad!"

The house was silent that night; we all sat in the living room. We were all afraid to speak. Mom, Dad, Lynne and Wallace, all sat on one sofa. I sat on the opposite sofa alone. I dreaded loneliness because it was easy for it to come into my life.

"Harper...?" Lynne asked fighting tears. I looked at her trying to hold back my own tears. I stared into her grey eyes, ripping like ponds being feed stones. "Are you going to leave?" I giggled. "Why would I leave my sister... My kazoku?" She giggled too and went over to hug me, and we squeeze each other almost crushing each other's lungs. Wallace stared at us, a smirk came across his face. "Hi, Wallace."
He blushed and made the cutest pouty face. "Its Ace... Just Ace."

"Harper?" Father asked "Are you sure you don't want to meet him?" I looked at him and thought long and hard. "He is not my father, Mr. Manley was my birth father. You are my father now." He begin to tear up and smiled. That was the first time I had seen him begin to cry.
They both came over and hugged me. "Tinzin.... He will fight for her." He nodded. "So will we."
