POV: none
It's been almost a week since Leeseo had visited Y/N. Rei had called him, asking for a favor- since the girls weren't allowed to go out without an escort (and most of them couldn't drive)- she wanted to go to an art museam, which Y/N agreed to. He had only just arrived outside their dorm, when she ran out of the front door, panting.(Warning- the next part will have a hybrid POV, where you'll hear some thoughts from both of them, but won't be fully in either person's perspective. 'Single quotes' denote thinking)
"Hey." Rei says, as she slips into the car.
"Hello." Y/N nods back. 'What's with the rush?' He wonders, watching her catch her breath.
"Ready to go?" She asks, trying to smooth over her abrupt arrival. 'Let's hope he doesn't mind that I'm late. It's not my fault my alarm was broken!"
"Yes."
'Oh god, he looks super mad. I'm already wasting his time, I was so stupid! Why did I ask him to take me, I could have waited.' Rei panics mentally, as Y/N pulls away from the building.
"So, which art museum are we going to? There's a number in Seoul."
"Oh, uh... I was thinking the Leeum center. Unless you'd prefer the Seoul Arts Center?" He pauses, thinking.
'I'm such a mess today. Alright Rei, get it together. Deep breath, steady your feet.' Rei grabs a hand firmly onto the handle of the door, and Y/N glances over.
"Everything alright?" Rei isn't sweating anymore, but she is clearly nervous. She looks over, and decides to be bold about it.
"Sorry I was late, my alarm didn't go off. I had a rush getting out the door, that's why I was running." Y/N shrugs.
"It's nothing to worry about. I have plenty of time." Rei exhales, mentally starting to relax.
'Okay, see? He's not bothered. He has plenty of time. Nothing to worry about, like he said!' She looks out the window, recovering her thoughts.
"Thanks." She says, on reflex.
"Yeah." He says back, also reflex. In reality, she's trying to remember if she ate breakfast and he's trying to decide which museum to go to."Hey, uh... do you know any good places we can get breakfast before we go? I don't think I ate anything, I was in a rush." He chuckles, hearing her sheepish request.
"It's not wise to visit a museum on an empty stomach." He pauses, then nods. "How about this- we'll go to the Arts center, but before we do, we can eat at my apartment. It's just nearby to the center."
"That works." She says, confidently. 'I'm really curious about his place, this is great! Did he know I wanted to see it? Did Leeseo somehow tattle on me?' He keeps driving, working across the large Seoul highways until we head almost out of the city. "Where are we going?" 'I thought his place had a view of the city, but we're taking the tunnels under the hill. How does that work?' He chuckles.
"You'll see." We drive down the tunnel, until suddenly he pulls off, moving down a side ramp I barely even noticed was there until we had driven into it.
"Ohhhh, this is cool!" He smiles a little, pulling into the garage of the house. Climbing out, of the car, he strolls down a row of fancy cars, mostly in a vague grey. "Now come they're all grey?" She asks, sounding a little disappointed. Y/N turns, smirking. He taps a button on the wall, then says,
"Color shift, silver." Suddenly, in sync, all of the cars change color, slowly sliding from grey into a shimmering silver. Rei gasps, amazed.
"No way!"her eyes sparkle at the fancy gadgets. "Can I try it?" Y/N gestures her over to him.
"Come over here." As she walks up he presses the button, and nods.
"Turquoise!" At her command, the cars slide across the color spectrum, settling into an iridescent turquoise, bathing the room in a blue-green shimmer. She gasps, laughing at the party trick. Y/N lets go of the button, and flips a switch. The cars go back to grey.
"The unpowered state is this grey. It's complicated as to how it works, but it does work." She nods, smiling. Y/N steps into the elevator, and Rei steps in as well.
"Is this an elevator?" She asks, suddenly realizing. Y/N presses the button, and it softly accelerates upwards. She nods, looking around a lot.
'She's very curious about the house.' He thinks to himself.
'I bet the view will be cool.' She muses. The door opens, and she's right- it's a cool view. As Rei walks into the open room, she looks in wonder at the window to the entire city skyline. Y/N steps past her, taking off his outer jacket and walking toward the kitchen. Rei goes left as he goes right, as she glances down the hall, then walks to the massive window. She gazes out, looking over the stretching valley below. As her hand presses against the glass, a blue shimmer slides across, and large markers appear across the city. One of them hovers above the Lotte tower, and says, "Lotte tower." Another sits high up at Namsan Observatory, and says, "Namsan Tower." There's a number of other towers as well, but it also marks the Olympic park, some notable districts, and many other places.
'Fancy.' Rei thinks.
"You can tap on them, and they'll give your more info." Fixer says, walking back in with some food. He puts down a plate with pastries and fruit, and a few pieces of meat. Rei barely even notices, as she fiddles around tapping on the holographic city overlay. He walks to the end of the table, placing it at the corner by the window. She turns, noticing him close behind her. "Eat." He says, nodding to the food.
"Thanks." She grabs something and starts nomming on it as she keeps tapping on different locations, seeing the information it provides. Fixer turns and walks away again, slipping out of sight. It's only a few minutes before Rei turns around, glancing across the room to see it empty.
"Y/N?" She asks, quietly. The sudden emptiness scares her a little, as she steps away from the glass. There's no sound, except a quiet beeping noise. Suddenly, a loud slamming noise comes from down a hall. "Ahh!" She shouts, surprised and scared.
"It's fine!" He calls back, and footsteps thump softly from down the hall. He walks back into the main room, and smiles. "Just doing a few chores." She nods. "Now watch this." He walks to the center of the window, and places his hands onto a panel, which slides out from a slot. Tapping on it a few times, there's a series of clunking, whirring noises. With a sudden loud Whoosh, and a roar of a rocket, a small flying device is launched. It shoots out from under the window, igniting and flying out over the city.
Rei looks at Y/N, ever curious. "New surveillance drone. My last one ran out and landed just yesterday." He nods, watching a small red line mark the path it flies.
"Can I get one of these windows?" He chuckles.
'Only if you have a supercomputer in your basement' he turns to her. "Did you get enough to eat?" She nods.
"I'm ready to go."
'Not quite what I asked. But no point pressing.' He thinks, and turns. He walks out the door, picking up his jacket on the way. As he steps into the elevator again, he presses a new button. This one flips around a wall, and he pulls two guns off a rack, sliding them underneath his jacket. He then shrugs, shifting casually into a better position. They ride the elevator quietly, neither of them quite sure what to say. Despite their seemingly close bond, Y/N and Rei haven't spoken much. The ride ends, and Y/N walks into a car- a new car this time, one Rei doesn't recognize. He simply climbs in, and as Rei gets into the passenger seat, he glances over, waiting for her to strap in. She does, and he departs.A/N- very long, sorry, it's been a busy week
