Alicia wiped her eyes, drawing back from Negan's embrace. She offered him a small smile, tilting her head. "I'm sorry for hating you." She said hoarsely.
He shook his head, cupping her face in his hands. "All that matters now is that you've come home."
The words hung in the air between them. Home. The sanctuary didn't feel like home. To be honest... nowhere had felt like home since the prison. Not even Alexandria.
She sighed, giving him a sad look. "Not yet." Something pulled in her chest, compelling her to be completely honest with her father. "Dad... I still haven't forgiven you."
She had told him about her and Daryl's act. She had told him that she did in fact care very much about her family in Alexandria. Especially Glenn.
"I had to do what was best for my people." He said, his voice soft. "You can understand that."
She shook her head. "No, I can't understand it. I can't even begin to understand it. I loved Glenn. Even if not by blood, he was my brother. I don't think I can ever forgive you for taking him away from me. But, I can love you. I can learn to live with you."
He stared at her for a moment before sighing. "This doesn't change what will happen with Rick's group if he doesn't back down."
Alicia furrowed her brows. "Dad, you can't kill them."
"They're killing my people, Ali." He said. "They're hurting us." He took her face in his hands, staring intently into her eyes. "Those people killed your daughter."
She shook her head. "Sasha did."
Negan looked away. "And you just let her walk free."
Alicia realized she hadn't even told him why she came back. He didn't know she had killed Sasha. "No I didn't."
"Well what did you do then?" He cocked an eyebrow.
"I beat the shit out of her." She looked at the floor, scared that she felt no remorse for her actions. "And then I shot her."
"Is that why you came back?" He asked.
She nodded. "They want my head on a stick. If I go back they'll kill me."
Something like anger flashed in her father's eyes. "They'll know you're here." He mumbled to himself.
"Yeah." She scoffed. "But they won't do anything while you're with me."
"I wish they would fucking try."
—————
Alicia stood at the gates of Alexandria, Negan placing a hand on her shoulder. Eugene wasn't far behind, trying his best to put on a poker face.
She turned to him, offering a small smile. "You're not the only one they want dead." She said.
He nodded, walking closer to her. "I don't blame you for what you did to Sasha. You were going through the unimaginable." He looked over at Negan. "Fair is fair."
Before anything else could be said, the sound of Ricks voice a few feet above them grabbed their attention. "You've got Alicia and Eugene." He spoke. "What else do you want?"
Negan laughed. "First," he started. "I want you to apologize to my daughter."
Rick's eyes flashed to Alicia and he gave her a look she had never seen on him before. Hatred.
"Alicia killed one of my people. What Sasha did was a mistake, it didn't warrant her death." He said coldly. Rick looked at Alicia before speaking again. "If you step foot back in Alexandria you'll be shot on sight."
Anger pooled in Alicia's chest. He would have done the same thing if it had been Carl. Here he was patronizing her for something he would have done.
"What about Daryl?" She finally spoke. "Am I not allowed to see my husband?"
Rick looked away. "Daryl can see you whenever he wants. I'm just letting you know that if I see you within these walls I'll kill you."
Alicia's anger got to best of her, and she reached for her gun, firing at Rick. "Bastard!"
She missed, and Rick pulled his gun, firing at Alicia. He didn't miss.
