Some people say that a dream is just that... a dream, but to those people Mason would simply tell them to work harder. The O'Malley twins fought hard to reach where they are now. As George stared at the entrance to Seattle Grace Hospital, Mason stole a glance at her brother.
George looked like a bundle of nerves and excitement. He was the most caring person she knew and that's not just because he's her big brother. George easily made friends since he's so lovable and was quick to introduce them to Mason. The twins were used to having the same friends because of this.
Mason had always been more of a loner (with the exception of George) which is probably due to the fact that she's the youngest of four children and also the only girl. When Mason did meet people, they fell in love with her boldness. Mason was honest and not afraid to speak her mind which was a stark contrast from her twin.
The duo had always been inseparable, so when they matched to the same program, they were ecstatic.
"We can do this, George," Mason said, breaking George from his thoughts.
"Together?" George responded.
"Always."
The twins gave each other a supportive smile and stepped through the doors.

After meeting up with the other interns, they were led into an OR by a doctor.
The interns began to scan the room while the doctor spoke, "Each of you comes here hopeful. Wanting in on the game. A month ago you were in med school being taught by doctors. Today, you are the doctors. The seven years you spend here as a surgical resident will be the best and worst of your life. You will be pushed to the breaking point. Look around you. Say hello to your competition. Eight of you will switch to an easier specialty. Five if you will crack under the pressure. Two of you will be asked to leave. This is your starting line. This is your arena. How well you play? That's up to you."
The twins looked at each other. George feeling a little nervous, but Mason was feeling inspired.
Afterwards, the interns were shown to their locker room to change into their scrubs. Mason and George picked lockers next to each other, of course. Everyone quickly changed into their scrubs, anxious to meet the resident they were assigned too.
"Which resident were you assigned to?" Mason heard a voice that had just been introduced as Cristina ask, "I got Bailey." Mason instantly knew George would introduce them to the girls since they all had the same resident.
"The Nazi?" The other girl answered, "Yeah, me too."
"You got the Nazi? So did we," George started, gesturing at Mason too. "At least we'll be tortured together, right? I'm George O'Malley, uh we met at the mixer. You had a black dress with a slit up the side, strappy sandals..."
As George trailed off, Mason said, "Now you think he's gay, but he's just nervous." George shot her a look while Cristina smirked, "I'm Mason, George's twin sister. It's nice to meet you both."
Cristina smiled and walked away as George tried to recover with the only intern.
"O'Malley's, Yang, Grey, Stevens," a doctor announced.
Mason and George followed the group down the hall as a blonde woman joined the four of them.
"I thought the Nazi would be a guy," George started.
The brunette woman continued, "I thought the Nazi would be... the Nazi."
The blonde woman countered, "Maybe it's professional jealousy. Maybe she's brilliant, and they call her Nazi because they're jealous. Maybe she's nice."
