You looked up at the call of your name to see Muzan was by himself and giving you an incredulous look. You smiled wildly at him and waved as he slowly waved back taking in the image of you lying across two cows'.
"Is there a reason you're in there?" He was wearing a polo shirt with shorts that had a crease in them, the cleanest sneakers you've ever seen, and a very expensive watch and necklace. Even when he was being casual he just screamed that he had come from money. You weren't jealous, not even in the slightest.
"Your sister said it was okay for me to be in here with them and well to be fair I did try to leave but the one with her head on my back got me pinned here on top of this one." You honestly did try to leave for a minute and they weren't having it; his sister had come to try and rescue you but, they weren't budging. This meant that you weren't going anywhere either for the time being.
"Of course she would." It seemed he only focused on what you said about his sister especially since he rubbed the bridge of his nose. You saw his father do that, he really was his father's child. "Why would she think this was a good idea, she knows how unpredictable and clingy those two could get." Now he was just talking to himself as he took a breather and turned to you with one hand on his hip as if he was a father with three kids and a mortgage and not a young man a couple of years older than you.
"You're done talking to yourself over there darling?" He frowned but, turned pink choosing to ignore your teasing.
"I'm going to get my sister and see what she could do to get you out of there." You didn't say anything as you watched him walk to go get his sister. As much as you loved laying here with the cows, their heads were heavy and your back was aching as well as your legs. It was a few minutes before his sister came with reinforcements and with the enticement of food the cows finally moved away from you enough to hobble away from them and climb back over the fence having no interest in getting out the proper way. Muzan reached an arm out to help steady you as he raised an eyebrow.
"Thanks, Muzan, as cute as they are my back did start hurting as well as my legs." He hummed and let you go once you were steady and he started walking with you while talking. He was talking about his business and how he offered for Kokushibo to be his business partner to which he agreed and that made sense. The two of them seemed to be pretty close to each other. As he talked the two of you walked around the zoo as you told him random animal facts that he listened to carefully each time.
"You're pretty knowledgeable on animals." You looked at him grinning.
"Yes, I grew up watching National Geographic and Animal Planet as well as any animal shows I came across. Then my parents would buy me animal fact books, I was so obsessed. Still am, to be honest." He hummed as the two of you continued walking and he asked you a ton of questions that you happily answered and he would ask follow-up questions. You had no idea he would be so interested in animals but, a small selfish part of you thought he was doing this because he enjoyed listening to you talk. To make yourself feel better you went with that.
"Why'd you stop talking?" You turned to him in surprise and he had stopped on the side of the amphibian house to talk to you. "You were talking about the different frogs and you just stopped, I was listening." He looked at you earnestly and you felt yourself getting flustered at the sudden attention.
"Oh, I know you were listening, I just was getting a little hungry and was thinking of what I should eat." He hummed looking at you up and down before turning and holding his arm out.
"Grab my arm and follow me." You blinked but, did as told looping your arm with his as he guided you through the throngs of people to a cute little cafe and he passed the line going straight to the back. You turned and saw his brother staring at the two of you and you waved with a nervous smile since Muzan was moving at Mach Jesus with purpose. His brother probably thought the two of you were weird but, whatever you were following Muzan after all.
"Where we going Muzan?" He said nothing as he went through another set of doors that led to a quiet little area away from the public and there were two tables with two chairs at each table. "Oooo I like this." You were too busy observing everything to notice the smug smirk he had on his face.
"This is where my family eats to get away from the loudness of the people and to have a moment of tranquility." You could relate to that very well, you didn't enjoy being in public and around people all the time, and you had enough of that at college.
"This is really nice and your family is blessed to have something like this, this is so tranquil and peaceful." You continued to look around a bit but turned back to him when he cleared his throat to garner your attention.
"Are you in the mood for ribs and french fries?" Your eyes widened and your mouth watered at that and he just chuckled as he texted away on his phone. "I just texted my brother and the food will be ready in 20 minutes or less." You nodded going to sit at one of the tables and he sat across from you and the two of you just started talking about whatever crossed your mind. You were a little self-conscious of what you were wearing but, to be fair none of this was planned! You just were going to enjoy the zoo like everyone else and were not expecting to sit down and eat with Muzan of all people. He just seemed so untouchable and unreachable at times. Hell, you had a stupid little thought that he would be in an arranged marriage but, that was a little old-schooled even for him.
"Do you have a favorite bird?" He was going to answer you but, his phone buzzed. He looked at it and nodded at whatever he saw.
"Our food is ready I'll be right back." You nodded and decided to watch tiktok while you waited for him to come back. He came back quickly and you moved your arms so he could place down your food as well as your drinks and that's when you noticed he was carrying one of those circular serving trays and you pretended not to notice the way his muscles bulged and veins became prominent. "Hope you enjoy it and cardinals are my favorite birds." You nodded and the two of you quietly ate with you complimenting the food as well as the strawberry lemonade.
"This was great Muzan, thank you darling. I bet everything else tastes just as good." You both caught each other's eyes and smiled. This lowkey felt like an impromptu date but, you weren't about to get ahead of yourself.
"You're welcome, sweetie." You blinked at the way that nickname smoothly came off of his tongue and warmed you up. Maybe you weren't getting too ahead of yourself for thinking this was an impromptu date. He was Muzan and Muzan does not go around giving anyone and everyone endearing nicknames. You weren't going to think too hard and ruin it for yourself, you were just going to go with the flow and enjoy your time with him.
