Two walked into the medbay, watching Seven as he worked, completely absorbed in his task of replicating the phasing technology.
"Hey," she called softly.
Seven looked up, a smile spreading across his face. "Hey," he greeted, leaning in to kiss her affectionately.
"How's it going over here?" Two asked.
"Close," Seven replied, his eyes lighting up. "With the Android's help, we should be able to reconfigure the implant's compatibility with my biological signature."
"But before that, look at this."
Seven hooked up the implant to a cup and tapped a button on his tablet, activating it remotely. The pencil phased through the table and clattered onto the floor.
"Wow," Two breathed, clearly impressed.
"I know!" Seven exclaimed, visibly excited. He continued to ramble on, his passion and enthusiasm pouring out in a way Two rarely saw. She watched fondly, appreciating this side of him. His intelligence was one of the things she loved most about him. But she also knew he was still human, he'd been up for the last week with barely any sleep.
Two gently cupped his face in her hands. "Come to bed."
"Just a few more minutes, I—"
"And it can wait till tomorrow," she insisted.
"I've missed you."
Seven softened, pulling her in for a tender kiss. "Okay, let me just put these away, and I'll be right there."
"Don't take too long." Two smiled and started to walk out, calling over her shoulder, "It's an order."
Seven chuckled, watching her go before he quickly tidied up his workspace, eager to join her.

Five stared at the console, her fingers hovering over the keys as she tried to reach Six once again. Her attempts had been unanswered for days, and the silence was starting to weigh heavily on her.
The Android approached, her synthetic eyes displaying a semblance of concern. "Still no success in reaching Six?"
Five sighed, dropping her hand from the console. "It's been days since we last talked."
The Android tilted her head thoughtfully. "I assume he must be busy."
"Too busy to call just to say he's too busy? Too busy to even accept my comm transmission?" Five's voice had a tinge of frustration and sadness.
"He did make it clear that his new duties on the outer colonies would command a great deal of his attention," the Android reminded her gently, "and that he wouldn't be as available to you as he was in the past."
"Yeah. I know," Five admitted, her shoulders slumping slightly. The logical explanation didn't ease the emotional weight.
The Android placed a comforting hand on Five's shoulder. "But that doesn't mean he isn't missing you, too."
Five managed a small smile, appreciating the Android's attempt to comfort her. Just then, the console beeped, breaking the moment of quiet.
"Maybe that's him now," the Android suggested with a hopeful tone as she accepted the comm transmission.
The screen flickered to life, revealing Commander Truffault's stern face.
"Commander Truffault," the Android greeted.
"What the hell is your crew playing at?" Truffault demanded.
Five blinked in surprise. "What are you talking about?"
