As Four, Nyx, Seven, and Two entered the marauder, a sense of purpose filled the air. Two settled into the pilot's seat, deftly activating the engines with practiced ease.
Turning to the team, Two's voice was steady but tinged with a hint of solemnity. "In case I don't get the chance to say it..." They paused briefly before continuing, "Thank you."
With a nod of acknowledgment, Two signaled to the Android through the comms, "We're ready."
"See you soon," replied the Android.
The marauder hummed to life, its engines thrumming as it seamlessly blinked into the sealed hangar. Two's eyes scanned the surroundings as she disembarked. "It worked. Raza, we're in," she confirmed.
Two turned towards Four and Nyx, relaying their next course of action. "Three and Six are somewhere on this station. I need you to go find them." Her instructions were clear, setting the team's objectives in motion.
"We'll go after the nanites," Two continued as she glanced at Seven.
"Do you know where they're located?" questioned Four.
Four's inquiry prompted a confident response from Two. "I know what, I know where, and I know how. Eric's coworkers were happy to help," she assured, producing a key card from her pocket as evidence of her preparedness.
With a shared nod, the group split off, Two and Seven navigating the corridors with caution, their focus unwavering as they pressed forward towards their goal.
Two and Seven slipped into the lab, immediately getting to work, searching through the storage for what they needed. However, their efforts were quickly thwarted as Two opened a case only to find it empty.
Suddenly, Rook's voice broke the silence, startling them. He appeared with armed security in tow, catching them off guard. Instinctively, Two and Seven raised their guns as Rook began to speak.
"It's not there anymore," Rook declared coolly, his voice slicing through the tense silence.
"It's not there anymore," Rook declared coolly, his demeanor suggesting he had anticipated their arrival.
"You understand that I can't give it to you, right?" Rook continued, his tone dripping with disdain. "You represent a professional failure for me, Rebecca,"
Rook's words dripped with disdain as he addressed Two and Seven. "If I just had you running around, it would make me look really bad," he sneered, his ego evident in every syllable. "And I just hate looking bad."
Two's voice cut through the tension, her tone resolute as she demanded answers. "Where is it?"
But Rook remained unfazed, his demeanor cool and calculated. "It doesn't matter," he replied dismissively, his words carrying an air of finality. "Your time is up."
As Two and Seven unleashed a barrage of gunfire at Rook and his men, their actions proved futile as bullets bounced harmlessly off some kind of barrier field surrounding Rook and his men.
"Personal shield, one of many wonderful technologies developed by Dwarf Star's research and development department," Rook explained with a hint of pride. "Like the damping field I used to negate your nanites the last time we met."
"And I could've used that again," Rook continued, his arrogance palpable, "but I thought, what a great opportunity to demonstrate my new prototype."
Rook's taunting tone chilled the air as he unveiled his trump card. "Would you like to meet the new you?" he jeered, a sly grin playing on his lips.
The wall behind Two and Seven slid open, revealing a figure that made their blood run cold. A buff man stepped forward, emanating an aura of power and menace.
