It was to mid evening when Llywelyn got the message from his spy Grace Jones he got all of his men and his subjects to prepare for war he quickly takes his people to his castle in the Snowdonia mountains near where the dragon sleeps. Hoping on all hope that king Edward and his army would tyre after making such a long journey, forcing them to retreat back to London.
Unfortunately, his plan didn't work. King Edward or his men, were tired, and he even managed to stop food from reaching Llewelyn. And many months later Llywelyn and his starving men were forced to surrender. what sort of king could let his people starve when he could save them. Prince Llywelyn had to bow before king Edward the first.
In return earning the respect from king Edward, then told Llywelyn that he could be the prince of Gwynedd, but not the prince of the whole of Cymru. In the year of 1278 ad lly6nwelyn married his love Eleanor de Montfort, but Llywelyn still wasn't happy with Edward.
Then sadly Eleanor died whilst giving birth to their daughter, Gwenllian ferch Llywelyn.
It wasn't long before the prince Llywelyn and king Edward the first began to fight again. Both blaming the other for the death of Eleanor. Llewellyn went to his castle in Snowdonia leaving his only daughter Gwenllian ferch Llywelyn with one of his most trusted knights in Gwynedd. But sadly, once again king Edward stopped all the food from getting to the castle.
