Several weeks passed by without much event. Life seemed to continue on mostly normally, aside from Leo and Sophie's continuously failing marriage. However, things with the Ezerath family were never calm for long. Sophie had come to realise something over the coming weeks, something she arguably should've come across sooner. Something that would change her life, as well as Luna's, forever. Sophie may not have cared about her children, but she felt that Luna at least deserved to know this, so she went to him.

"Luna?"
She asked the boy softly from behind his bedroom door, which was closed tightly.

Luna heard her voice and his heart immediately began to race as his stomach twisted into a knot, like a towel being rung out. He didn't answer her in hopes she'd just leave.

"Luna. There's something we need to talk about."
She told him, a little more harshly.

"Fuck off."
Luna muttered, he didn't care about any word that left that woman's mouth.

"Don't speak to your mother like that."

"You stopped being my mother after that night. Now fuck off!"
Luna yelled to her, clearly still emotional after everything that had gone on in such a short space of time.

"Look, we need to talk about this."

"Stay out there! Don't come in!"

"I'm pregnant, Luna."
Sophie whispered to him through the door. Luna froze as his heart shattered into a thousand pieces.
"You're...what...."
He began to shake with fear. Luna was only 18. He barely had a grasp on his own life, let alone raising a child of such a horrible nature.
"Get rid of it."
He told Sophie harshly.

"What?"
Sophie asked him

"Are you fucking deaf? I said get rid of it!"
Luna yelled, his eyes began to blur with maroon red tears.

"You think I want this? If I could get rid of it I would!"
Sophie replied. Luna opened his door and harshly pulled her into his room without much care for if he hurt her, which he did. Luna's nails had dug into Sophie's wrist as he pulled her in, causing an indent in her skin. He slammed the door behind her.

"Do you know it's mine for definite?"
Luna asked her

"Yeah. I haven't touched your dad for months, it can't be his."
Sophie replied

Luna sighed
"I don't need you running your mouth around about this. You can't keep that kid."
He scowled, narrowing his eyes and glaring at her sharply.

"It isn't like you can force me to get rid of it. It's my body and my choice. Besides, like I said, I don't even know if I CAN get rid of it. I'm pretty sure I'm past the threshold of time for that."
Sophie told him

Luna facepalmed and growled
"You are so stupid. How the hell do you not realise you're pregnant!?"

"I get sick a lot. But anyway, this isn't the time. What do we do?"
Sophie asked him

Luna raised an eyebrow and cracked a smile, which then turned into laughter. Sophie looked confused and insulted.
"WE? Oh no, no, YOU are dealing with this yourself. I want nothing to do with you or that child. You've put me through so much bullshit, I don't need a living reminder of the worst night of my life!"

Sophie growled lowly at him, her ears lowered as she snarled.
"Like it or not, you have to take some responsibility for this!"

"Responsibility? Satan I didn't think even you were this braindead. I am under NO obligation to take any responsibility for that child. I owe you nothing. You did this to yourself, deal with the consequences like a grown up."
Luna told her harshly.
"The fact you think you can abuse me the way you did and then come crying to me when it backfires on you is the most degraded, low-life, scum of the earth behaviour that I've ever seen displayed by a single person. You are the worst demon I have ever met, and I completely understand why you would be down here. I am ashamed to be related to you by blood, and even more ashamed that another child will now have to suffer with you as their mother."
He continued. Sophie listened to him as her face grew angrier with each word that came from her son's mouth. She raised a hand like she was going to hit him, but Luna reached up and grabbed her wrist tightly, digging his nails into her on purpose.

"Enough of this too."
Luna's mouth contorted into a confident smirk as he glared up at the woman he once considered his mother.
"Unlike father, I won't take your shit. You don't scare me, Sophie."
Sophie looked shocked but focused on removing her arm from his grip. Luna just watched her struggle as he tightened his grip, digging his nails in harder and harder until it broke the skin.

"Ow! You're hurting me god dammit!"
Sophie cried trying to fight back the tears in her eyes. Luna threw her arm to the side and let go, leaving her to bleed.

"You're no mother of mine. I hate you. The only things I want to hear from you is if the kid has any deformities, the gender, and when the kid is born. I don't care about anything else. Maybe if I'm quick I can save it from being raised by you. You'll give me this information as soon as you have it. I may not have any responsibility for the kid, but I know I don't want another life suffering at your hands."
Luna told her, his voice was stern and his face remained cold.

"Not that I have any obligation to tell you anything, but fine. It isn't like I want the kid anyway."
Sophie replied.

"You're so pathetic. Just get the hell out of my room. I don't want any conversation with you unless it's about the kid. Other than that, I want you out of my life."
Luna looked away from her, he couldn't face her anymore.
Sophie didn't bother replying. She just headed for the door and placed a hand on the handle.

"And for Satan's sake, don't let anyone find out. Keep it as hidden as you can. If anyone does ask, say it's fathers."
Luna told her. Given the time frame, the child couldn't be Leo's even if that's what Luna wanted to believe so badly. So very badly.

Sophie left his room and closed the door behind her, she went to go take a shower. The conversation she had just had with her son didn't seem to have affected her at all.

Luna, on the other hand, locked his bedroom door the second Sophie left. He put his back to the door and sank to his knees as he began to shake severely. His tears went from a deep maroon red to a black as dark as his dim room, his breathing became frantic and unsteady as he buried his head into his knees and gripped onto his hair with both hands tightly. His head became full of the worst possible outcomes with the child, all while that awful night began to replay in his head. Luna then had a moment of clarity as he remembered the one thing he had control over. He remembered that the one thing he could control was the self-inflicted damage on his body.

Luna remembered the Stanley knife he kept in his bedside table, alongside holy rope which burned demon's skin to touch. In his haze, he crawled from the door to the bedside table and opened the bottom drawer, searching around frantically with his hand as the black tears fell from his eyes and began to stain his hand. Eventually, the familiar silver shimmer of the blade caught his eye and he picked up the blade. He then crawled over to the bedroom mirror and lifted up his hair to reveal his bright green eye. The only part of him that he could control that resembled Sophie.

He clutched the blade in his shaking hand as tears poured from his eyes. He raised his hand up to his green eye, and plunged it forward. As quickly as the blade went in, he pulled it out, taking his eye with it. The optic nerve that connected the eye to his head severed as Luna pulled on the blade, and unimaginable amounts of blood poured from the hole where his eye once was. Throughout all of it, Luna was so distracted by everything else that he didn't even feel the pain. The motion was so quick, and the blade so sharp, that the pain only came once his eye had been removed. He kept the blade in his hand and thrust it into the mirror, shattering it with his eye still on the blade. Blood ran down the mirror, as well as Luna's face. The last sound to come from Luna before he blacked out, was a scream of pure agony as he realised what he had just done.

Jace heard Luna's scream and ran upstairs, the last sound Luna heard was that of Jace pounding on his door trying to get in to help him, before he passed out from exhaustion. From that day forward, Luna was without an eye. He didn't want to draw any attention to it, so it was only covered by his hair and just kept clean every day. No skin grew over the wound, the eye wasn't shut, there was just a black hole where Luna's eye used to be, with dried blood down his face that couldn't be cleaned off.
