Zara stood in front of the full-length mirror, her heart pounding in her chest. She barely recognized the woman staring back at her. Her wedding dress, an elegant ivory gown with delicate lace detailing and a flowing train, fit her perfectly. The sweetheart neckline and the intricate beadwork shimmered under the soft lighting of the bridal suite. Her hair was styled in loose, cascading waves, adorned with a simple yet stunning, pearl-studded headband. Her makeup was flawless, highlighting her natural beauty with soft, rosy hues on her cheeks and lips, and a hint of shimmer on her eyelids. She wore delicate diamond earrings and a matching bracelet, gifts from Aaron's mother. On her feet were a pair of classic white heels, adding just enough height to make her feel graceful without discomfort.

Yet, despite the beauty and perfection surrounding her, Zara felt a knot of anxiety tightening in her stomach. This wasn't how she had envisioned her wedding day. The weight of the decision she had made, marrying Aaron to pay for her mother's medical bills, pressed heavily on her shoulders.

A knock on the door pulled her from her thoughts. "Come in," she called softly.

The door opened to reveal Luca. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him. "You look... stunning," he said, his voice tinged with a mix of awe and sadness.

"Thanks," Zara replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Luca moved closer, his expression serious. "Zara, you don't have to do this," he said, his eyes searching hers. "You don't have to marry him. This family is toxic."

Zara looked away, the knot in her stomach tightening further. She has to lie to him now. "I do, Luca. I've loved Aaron since we were kids. The feelings I have for you... I have to ignore them. I've always dreamt of Aaron and me ending up together. It's time for you to let me go."

Luca's face fell, but he managed a sad smile. "If that's truly what you want, I'll respect your decision. But know that I'm here for you, always. Even when you want to walk away from them."

Tears welled up in Zara's eyes, but she blinked them back, determined not to ruin her makeup. "I appreciate that, Luca. But this is my decision."

Luca leaned in to kiss her cheek. "If you ever need anything, I'm here for you."

"Thank you," Zara whispered, watching as he left the room. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. This was it. There was no turning back now.

Zara had a brief moment with her bridesmaids, Olivia and Mia, before it was time to walk down the aisle. They offered words of encouragement, but the weight of her decision loomed large.

Her mother, Victoria, took her arm, both of their eyes tearing up for different reasons. "You look beautiful, sweetheart," Victoria whispered, her voice filled with pride and sorrow.

"Thank you, Mom," Zara replied, her voice trembling.

The ceremony took place in a beautiful garden, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers. Guests filled the rows of white chairs, murmuring softly as they waited for the bride to appear. Aaron stood at the altar, looking sharp in his tailored black suit. His expression was unreadable, a mask of calm and composure.

As the music began to play, Zara took a deep breath and stepped out into the aisle. All eyes turned to her, and she felt a rush of anxiety. She focused on walking steadily, one foot in front of the other, trying to ignore the whirlwind of emotions inside her.

When she reached the altar, Aaron extended his hand to her. She took it, her grip firm despite her nerves. The officiant began to speak, but Zara barely heard the words. Her mind was a swirl of thoughts and fears.
