A purple flare rose through the skies, signaling a distress call for three young cadets who had been defeated and humiliated, but fortunately, not killed.

"I've put out a distress signal," Jean said, putting away his flare gun. "Although I doubt that anyone deduces what has happened to us just by looking at the signal."

"Armin, we'll wait three minutes," Reiner suggested. "Until then, we have to decide which of us will stay here..."

"I'll stay," Armin interrupted, to the surprise of the two cadets.

"What?" Jean said. "Hey, wait a second...!"

"But in exchange, I want you to convey a message to your superiors for me. If possible, Commander Erwin."

"Watch out!"

Jean's warning cry startled Armin and Reiner, who both turned and widened their eyes in horror.

An 8-meter tall Titan was barreling straight towards them at an alarming speed. Judging from the strange way it was running, it was an abnormal.

'Oh, no!' Armin thought with growing panic around him, 'The trees are too short to use the ODM! And that titan is an abnormal, it will be impossible to predict its movements!'

'Shit!' Jean cursed at his thoughts, taking a step back. 'We barely made it out of that Female Titan alive. And now this?!'

"Jean, Armin, get on the horse!" Reiner exclaimed, unsheathing his blades. "I'll distract it while you run away!"

"Are you crazy, Reiner?!" Jean questioned. "We will not leave you behind!"

"There is no time to argue! Go away before...!"

His statement was cut short when everyone heard the distinctive sound of the ODM, along with the jet of high pressure gas being released. The three soldiers turned to watch in amazement as a dark green blur passed through the Titan's legs and cut one of its ankles, causing it to fall hard on the floor.

"Wait a second, it's..."

Armin watched wide-eyed as a figure landed in front of them, skidding to the ground.

He recognized who she was by seeing the tall figure.

"... Ymir!

The freckled girl glanced over her shoulder to arch an eyebrow at them, but she quickly frowned.

"What the hell are you idiots doing here?!" she growled. "Do you want to die, that's why you stand there like idiots?!"

"Ymir, watch out!" Jean warned.

They all turned to see how the Titan began to stand up with its hands while it leg healed.

Even with the hungry look on the Titan's face, Ymir remained calm when she smiled slightly.

"Now, Christa!" she yelled.

A loud cry coming from behind the Titan alerted them to the appearance of another person. By the time the Titan finished healing, it was already too late because a precise cut on the back of the neck was enough to eliminate it definitively.

The huge body of the 8-meter Titan collapsed to the ground with a loud crash, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Everyone watched in amazement as the Titan's body began to evaporate and, from the cloud of dust, their savior emerged.

"I did... My first confirmed kill!" Christa cheered, a huge angelic smile on her face. "All the training I did with Victor paid off!"

Ymir shook her head with a small smile on her face at her girlfriend's bubbly attitude. Instead, Jean, Armin, and Reiner still had a dumbfounded look on their faces, their mouths slightly agape due to the manner in which the girl who was nicknamed 'The Goddess of the 104th' had killed an abnormal titan.
