Chapter 2
Dimple
"Pumunta ka na rito. Bahala ka kapag iniwan kita. Ikaw din..." ani ko habang naririnig ang pag hinga niya sa kabilang linya.
I still had the cellphone in my ear as I looked at... what's his name? Lyric? That's the first time I've heard that name, huh. I guess he's into music. It's obvious. He has headphones around his neck.
Even though he was far, I could still see him. He bit his lower lip before I heard the call end. I returned the cellphone to my pocket and kept my eyes on him. I folded my arms while waiting for him. He dragged his suitcase towards my direction.
Parang pagong kumilos!
I swallowed and returned my gaze to him. He was getting closer to me. He was still dragging his suitcase. I crossed my arms, patiently waiting for him.
Nag katinginan kaming dalawa.
My throat went dry as I traced the features of his face. He had monolid eyes, which gave a unique touch to his appearance. It was quite noticeable because of his monolid eyes, a feature I rarely encounter in the people I interact with.
My gaze lowered to his straight nose that completed his entire face. He wasn't very fair-skinned, maybe he spent a lot of time in the sun, so his normal skin color was just right.
Next were his perfectly pink lips. Damn! Our lips were almost the same color, the only difference was I had a beard that wasn't very prominent.
He was smooth-faced... then my gaze rose to his cheeks. Since we were close, I couldn't miss the freckles on his cheeks. He wasn't too fair, nor too dark, so maybe when you're close to him, that's the only time you can see the freckles on his cheeks.
Indeed, may lahi nga siya. Walang halong biro, totoo na 'to. Ang gwapo ng mukha niya. Sobra.
He had blonde hair, styled in a comma haircut. When he combs it backward, the strands quickly fall on his forehead. You know that? I can't explain it. His face is so unique, to me, maybe because I'm used to seeing the usual.
Maybe I'm feeling this way now because it's new to my eyes... hmm...
"Let's go." bigla siyang nag salita kaya napakurap ako.
Napalunok ako at napaiwas ng tingin. Tumango ako at tumalikod. Kumunot ang aking noo at saglit siyang nilingon. He raised his eyebrows and walked towards me. I caught a whiff of his masculine cologne.
Umayos ako nang tayo. Nasasapawan yata ako.
"Don't you have a car?" he asked, looking at me.
"Wala. Nag commute lang ako papunta rito." sagot ko, hindi siya tiningnan.
"Taxi?" He tilted his head.
Tiningnan ko na siya. Nag katinginan kami ulit. Napangisi ako at nag kibit-balikat.
"Alangan barko ang sakyan ko?"
Umismid siya. "Hail a taxi. I'll pay."
Umiling ako. "Ikaw ang mag para. Para masanay ka."
