(I don't really got much to say about this one. Kinda just a chapter to get a story actually going I guess. This is going to be a longer fanfic than originally thought! Cx)

(James Point of View)

A few moments after Meowth had trotted into the forest, I turned onto my side and sighed, closing my eyes as if I was still asleep. I'm not going to do it. Not going to talk to Jessie. As if! Meowth knows very well what will happen, and I'm not looking forward to a beating from Jessie. This is probably a practical joke of his. Meowth probably thinks this whole situation is hilarious!

What am I thinking? He sounded serious. Even that low life cat wouldn't joke about something like this. And if he was right about me, he was probably right about Jessie. I had to at least talk to her, right? Maybe I'll wait a few days, then tell her. I'm confused. I guess I'm not much of a thinker. Jessie's the one who is the brains, not me.

I guess for awhile I just sort of sat there in my sleeping bag. I'm surprised that Jessie hadn't woken up yet, the sun was almost up. After a little while, I drifted off to sleep, only to wake up not long later. The sun was fully up in the sky. I sat up to see Jessie still turned over, sleeping, and Meowth taking a cat-nap on the foot of her sleeping bag. Maybe if I get the chance to talk to her without Meowth interfering, I'd tell her today. Meowth was right, I won't deny it. I like Jess, I really do. I crawled out of my bag and stretched quietly, trying not to wake Jessie or Meowth... and failing...

I heard a shuffle and turned to see Jessie sitting up in her sleeping bag, looking worn out, her long reddish-pink hair messed up. It was kinda cute, strangely enough. "Morning." She mumbled blankly, rubbing her eyes.

"Morning, Jess" I replied, a shy smile creeping across my face. Jessie scowled. What's wrong with her? I shuffled my feet awkwardly. Ok so maybe today wasn't the best day to talk to her about feelings. I don't think she's in the mood today. "So... got any ideas for what we're gonna do to catch the electric rat today?" I asked awkwardly, looking at the ground to avoid any more embarrassing looks from the sour-puss. Wait a second...Did Jess just look... relieved after I asked that...?

"Oh," She started, looking as nervous as I assumed I looked, "No, but I'm sure we'll come up with something as soon as that PESKY cat wakes up." She stretched out her leg and kicked Meowth, causing him to flip over onto his wake and let out an angry meow.

Well that kills my plan. Forget it. Meowth will just interfere, even more than he already has.

The tan cat Pokemon stumbled to his feet and rubs the spot where Jessie had kicked him. "Geez calm yo'slef Jess, I'm awake. You coulda been nicer 'bout it." And at Meowth's comment, as I expected, Jessie gets her usual annoyed scowl and stares down Meowth. At this point, Jessie is usually beating the good for nothing cat, but instead she just turns after a few moments of glaring at the scratch Pokemon. Meowth shoots me a glance that I can only presume is questioning. He's either asking me if I've talked to Jess yet, or maybe he's asking about what her problem is this morning. Either one it is, I don't' want to answer. I give Meowth a shrug and walk to the other side of our little temporary camp and sit on a log.

Jessie, not noticing the exchange between me and Meowth, had folded up her sleeping bag and was walking over towards me. She sat next to me and looked down shyly. Jessie, act shy? Ok something is going on. You don't think Meowth talked to her too..?

"We need a plan." She mumbles, not very enthusiastically. Usually she's excited to come up with our new evil plan, or at least confident in making one.

After a few minutes of silence, Meowth pipes up. "Why don't we just track down 'da Twerp Troop and come up with a plan when we get 'dere?" Jess and I both shrug blankly and get up in unison. I step over to my sleeping bag and roll it up like we usually do when leaving our little camps, and as I get up after I'm done, I look over at Meowth. His expression can only be described as... well sorta crushed I guess. Was he hoping I'd talk to her this morning? Did he seriously bet on me even telling her? I walk over to him as Jessie has already started down the trail.

"We'll see." Is all I say to him. I pat Meowth on the head like a person normally does to cat, and slowly walked down the path after Jess, hearing footsteps behind me to know Meowth was following.
