THE LAZARUS family didn't have much of a presence in Hawkins, Indiana, despite their long history in the area. Danielle was intimately familiar with every corner of the town, but they still tended to keep to themselves. Haisley, the family's mother, stood out as incredibly reserved, almost to the point of being the most antisocial person you could encounter. And this behavior largely stemmed from her struggles with social anxiety. Additionally, she kept her family sheltered and indoors, for the most
part.

At Hawkins middle, Danielle had it all. She was considered the "teenage dream" for a girl. She could buy whatever she wanted, when she wanted it. Not only that but she was absolutely gorgeous. Long luscious dirty blonde hair that ran just below her knees, and deep hazel eyes that kept a faint shine.

Of course with this came advantages, there were many things Danielle got to do with her 'pretty privilege'. Starting off with the fact she got off easily on pretty much.. everything. She got good grades for the most part, but at times she didn't teachers always offered her extra credit everytime. Any club or extracurricular activity was practically handed to her. Boys and girls envied her, but everyone wanted to be or be with Danielle lazarus.

She seemed like the perfect girl, so what could there possibly be to be upset about? Well, it's true. The girl herself barely has any insecurities, except for one. The number on her wrist. She didn't know where it came from, and her own mother refused to tell. But to her, it made her a freak. She hated it.

Despite the amount of choices she has, Danielle stuck to her weird little friend group. And she was just fine like that. Infact, at the moment, she is currently arguing with Mike Wheeler as they sat in his basement.

"Absolutely not!" Danielle exclaimed as she plopped on the nearby couch, glaring at the boy.

Mike rolled his eyes, "Come on! Just one time." He said, trying to persuade the girl into playing one round of d&d.

That was one thing Danielle never understood, the pure joy in a.. board game? It just wasn't her thing. She'd rather spend all her time at the mall or the arcade.

"Mike, i dont even know how to play."

"Then we'll teach you!" Lucas added in from the chair on the left of mike, the rest of them nodded in agreement which only caused the girl to sink deeper into the couch.

Danielle groans, "It's not happening."

The boys' faces all fall in disappointment but quickly perk back up as she stands up with a sigh.

"If it makes you feel better, — I'll watch." she said, grabbing a chair and adding it to the table beside the group, sitting down with her arms crossed.

"Anyway, resuming." Dustin said before clearing his throat.

"Wait.. did you guys hear that?" Mike starts.
