"Hey, were you eavesdropping on my call?" She lashed out at him.
He simply shook his head with a calm expression on his face. "I was just passing by. Not my mistake that you weren't apprehensive to lower your voice so that I couldn't hear you."
Andaleeb turned around and raised a brow. "I am not a criminal like you to hide myself behind anyone's back."
Something changed in Shah's eyes. "I ain't a criminal."
She laughed. "Really? You yourself confessed a while ago that you kill the people who betray you."
"Killing isn't about spilling blood, Andi. Killing isn't at all about taking a life. Killing is beyond that. It's a murder of the vile intentions, a wicked mind, and immoral acts," he told her.
"So what was that gun doing with you? You wanted to kill me if I hadn't agreed to help you out," she asked, hurriedly.
"That's just for a show, Andi. It's expected of me to appear broody, arrogant, and ruthless as a landlord who bats no eye on anything that doesn't go his way. I hate spilling blood," he murmured, shoving his one hand inside his pocket.
She silently kept on looking at him before huffing. "It's the last time I am asking you to not call me Andi. And second I don't give a heck about your mindset about anything. You can do whatever you want. Who are you that I should care about what you do and what you don't? I am leaving. And tomorrow morning I need my things back."
She shoved past him while mumbling something under her breath.
"Listen!"
She stopped in her tracks when he called her. Twisting her nose a little, she moved around to look at him who stood there, tall, handsome, and confident.
"Isn't it weird?" he uttered, walking closer to her.
She narrowed her eyes in question.
"You said earlier that you won't let strangers call you by your nickname. If we meet again, I won't be a stranger to you then," he announced, a side of his lips curling upward.
"It's not like we are going to meet again," she snapped back and after that, she didn't remain there as she fled the room.
His eyes followed her till she was visible and there was something else which he felt right now.
_______________
Andaleeb felt at peace coming back to their room. But seeing the expressions on her sister's face, she knew she was in big trouble. Whatever happened today was so strange and odd. She met someone in a clothing store, helped him choose a dress for his sister, and in the end, he blackmailed her to give him rescue. That was very dramatic and almost felt like coming straight out of fantasy. She shook her head. That guy and his topic ended now. First, she needed to make sure that her excuse would be valid enough for Daneen to believe.
